Depends on the maturity level of the child. How willing is he/she to follow directions and remain calm? I would recommend hiring a guide to accompany your party through the courses if you've never been. We did for our 10, 11, and 12 year old boys and that resulted in a wonderful time for all. The guide was able to calm the apprehensions of the youngest, channel the daredevil propensities of the oldest, and build the skills and self esteem if the middle child. Win. Win. Win.
