I have a golden retriever. I did not let her swim. The current is too strong. Lakes or small streams would be better.

If you walk upstream from the main park area there are a few places a dog can get in. The current is really fast so its only good for strong swimmers.

If you go to the river on the same side as the camp ground dogs will have fun swimming. The current is a bit strong so I wouldn't suggest it if your dog is small or not a good swimmer.

There is a small poolish area where kids get in to swim, but i would not let my dog loose there. There is a dog park in old mill district with water access.
