I’ve been a priso…. Uh, Patient at Burnside CODA in Portland for over a decade now 2008-2022(currently). I’ve had several counselors, attended countless classes and groups that helped me overcome a lot. As long as I adhered to the program I have NEVER had any issue or problems like in some negative reviews. From what I’ve seen first hand it’s usually the clients that are directly responsible for the negative experience. Drug use and addiction clients may be so mentally drained from years of untreated addiction that the critical balance in our brain chemistry is —for lack of a better term-- toast. In short, we become irrational, moody, unreasonable, and sometimes act like a victim, or get angry when there are repercussions to our actions we don’t like. All that you need to do is follow the guidelines and personal treatment plan set by you and your counselor and there will be minimal, if any, serious issues. In my experience they are very understanding and compassionate but will strictly adhered to policies. Remember, they have heard every excuse and reason in the book. TLDNR: Great people, adequate counseling and direction to any resources you may have a need for. Never had a single problem when following treatment plan and clean UAs. Lines seem to be longer on Mon. Wed. and Fri.

Coda is the Best Program around. People will say bad things about Coda, I have been at Coda for 9 yrs. Clean and not had but 3 dose holds. I am in compliance. Without issues. Of you don't hang around, and hang with ppl there you will be left alone. I hope thus helps someone

I've been a patient here since 1997. The counselors are awesome. The nurses are usually great as well. The Doctor however, besides being the Director, obviously doesn't like us. She makes our lives very unpredictable. For instance, there are close to 1000 patients that go here. Sometimes the line for meds can be 2 hours long. Even if it's packed to the gills with people who have jobs, appointments etc, she will pull staff away from us, to go upstairs to help her with paperwork etc. It IS the best treatment center in town. But that's mostly because places like Allied are openly hostile to the patients. Coda, at least has a good staff that are willing to help whenever they can.

Because it is a controlled substance and any little thing that brings it into question they will error on the side of caution. They will almost always NOT give benefit of doubt. They do not want anyone's life on their hands. Can't blame them really. At least I don't.
I'm going in this morning, so I will let you know. But I've heard that YES, from multiple people, you do dose the same day. However, the intake prices is long. They told me tut o expect anywhere from 4 to 5 hours. I'm not entirely sure yet, like I said.. but I will update my post as soon as I'm there and can let you know first hand.
