Our 2 year old German Shepherd just completed a board and train at Take the Lead with Kaytlyn and Jason. His main issues were car anxiety, occasional leash reactivity, and pushiness/rude behavior with new dogs. Before the scheduled board and train Kaytlyn was happy to meet with us for 1-1 lessons to address our immediate concerns. Through the whole process she has been incredibly responsive and given us amazing tips and tools to use with our boy. He made a ton of progress during the board and train and we know now how to continue setting him up for success. This is the 5th training facility we have brought our GSD to for lessons, and finally it is our last! The methods are tailored to what our boy needs to be successful, rather than a one size fits all training style. We are looking forward to attending the follow up group classes to continue his progress.

I attended their monthly training to go over everything they offer. We learned an extreme amount of valuable information. I recommend they expand their team so that the waiting period isn’t so long. You will be waiting 6-12 months to be able to get your pup into training. Most people don’t have that time to wait. They are looking for training as a last and immediate resource. I would recommend them if you have time to wait. If not, attending a monthly info meeting to get started.

Chery Ross of Take The Lead Dog Training is miraculous. She helped us with our over-excited and over-reactive but loving dog Ziggy. Ziggy would not be the dog he is today without Cheryl's help. My husband and I never thought we would get to the point where we enjoy and seek out walking time with Ziggy. He has become so wonderful with bikes, kids, and other people walking past. He is calm and controlled. He may notice the other dog but he doesn't react unless he is challenged at close range. Even then, he is more attentive to our words to him as we protect his personal space and remind him to keep walking and ignore the challenging dog. All of our neighbors love Ziggy and happily greet him when we meet them at the beginning or end of one of our daily walks. He has adjusted to our move to Germany (from Seattle) quite well and the biggest reason why he is happy is because of his long daily walks. Ziggy has always been great with other dogs in playtime but now he is also a joy during walks - Thanks to Take the Lead Dog Training. Gratefully! Ziggy, Andrew and Mary-Margaret Waker

Cheryl has been wonderful with our dogs! So easy to trust her with the care of our furry kids. They've been with her for one month and today we go to retrieve them. They've worked hard! Now the works begins for their humans. Welcome home Bubba and Princess Leia!

I think so. Email them. Cheryl does a great job with this sort of thing. She helped my pup.
Hi Maryam, thank you for asking this question. I'm sorry to hear you are struggling with your GSD pup and your child. We would be happy to help you resolve this issue through training! We start every dog/puppy out with an Evaluation so that we can get to know you, your dog, and your training needs better. This way we can provide an accurate recommendation for a training program. The Evaluation is only $150 and we will send you home with helpful homework that day too! One quick tip for your pup to just get started on preventing more injuries would be to have your pup wear a leash around the house (always supervised for safety). This way you can guide the puppy better around your kids. It won't "fix" the issue, but can help manage for now. We look forward to hearing from you!
