My new bride made reservations for this trip, as such, the room was not under my last name. There was no social hour, breakfast, snack, or beverage offered purportedly due to covid. It appeared that the dining space was significantly reduced due to the fact that the back deck for outdoor dining was condemned. There were multiple signs of neglect in the interior and exterior of the building. This building has potential, but will take some work. It would not have a bad experience for a $55 stay, but extremely disappointing for the price paid.

My girlfriend and I booked a room here for our anniversary. After booking the king room that says “kitchenette” we called and asked if the kitchenette had kitchenware already and we were told that the kitchenette room has pots and pans ready for use. To us this meant that the rooms that say “kitchenette” would have typical kitchenette features (stovetop, refrigerator, microwave, etc). That assumption would be false since management said “The” kitchenette room has a kitchenette. Which is misleading since multiple rooms say “kitchenette” and other rooms do not. To a normal person this would mean that rooms that say kitchenette would have one. We checked into our first room and it was not what we expected ( mainly since there was no kitchenette, just a microwave, mini fridge and a coffee maker). The room was also small and had no way to control the ac unit on the wall. We went back up front and asked about the kitchenette and was told that not all of the rooms had one. Okay fine, that was annoying but either way the pictures were misleading so we rebooked for the bigger king room. Now keep in mind this room says nothing about a kitchenette in it so there would be no kitchenette. When we entered we found the same setup (microwave, mini fridge and a coffee maker). The overall experience kinda killed the mood so we wanted to just check out and find another place to stay. We talked to a younger lady who was very nice and accommodating to our issues. She called her manager over to speak with us. We expressed our concerns nicely and asked for a refund or even a refund for the night we didn’t stay. She said there was an absolute no refund policy, which there was and I understand that we signed for that. When I tried to explain to her that the place did not feel like how it looked online she just kinda looked at us like she did not care. This annoyed me so I told her the hotel feels like a scam. Some rooms say kitchenette and some do not. We asked about it and she never said that there was only 1 specific room with a kitchenette. So if that’s the case, why are multiple rooms labeled as having a kitchenette? The no refund policy says you need to cancel about a week prior to your stay to get your money back. That fact and the misleading pictures and completely outdated featured (ie. a standing tower ac in the middle of our second room as our conditioning unit) along with the confusing labeling is what drove me to call the place a scam.

We stayed here for our anniversary and it was excellent. Clean, well appointed, and the staff were courteous and helpful. The gourmet breakfasts did not disappoint. Would definitely stay again.

I stayed in Suite V. It was just a little awkward having the mini fridge and microwave basically in the bathroom. While I understand the historic charm of the room I think they need to make some upgrades to the property OR lower the rates considering they are not offering any extra amenities like breakfast. It was a cold weekend which resulted in my room being super cold. The small electric fireplace in the room wasn't helpful. I am not sure how summer months are considering there was also a portable A/C/Humidifier of some type in the unit. The carpet needs some attention/replacing. This room only has a shower which is very small, the price for the ONE handicapped accessible unit was three times more than this unit I stayed in.. not sure why. The positive thing about the property was I felt safe and the location is great, just not worth the price tag.
