I have been dropping off packages here for about 4 years. Until about a month ago there was a quiet, but effective clerk, but he was never rude, just not chatty. Recently I went in and the owner complained *loudly* on the phone about a customer (me) coming in a few minutes before their closing time (little did he know, I was only dropping off packages and was out again before the closing time). I will never use this location again after such rudeness. Apalling.

I just had the most horrible customer experience at the Postal Annex at 6663 S.W. Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy, Portland, OR 97225. The owner, Scott Hutchinson, was extremely rude. I had a Fedex package to ship and when I asked him if I could have a Fedex pouch to place the Fedex shipping label in, he basically rolled his eyes and made it seem that he didn't want me in his store. When I asked him why he was in a bad mood, he said loudly "I'M NOT IN A BAD MOOD". He said he basically gets nothing if someone sends something via Fedex in his shop. I asked him "Isn't this your chance though to be kind to a customer so that the customer would want to come back to purchase other services?" He just looked at me angrily. I'm not sure if I have met a more unfriendly customer service person in my life. It's shocking that Postal Annex has chosen someone of this person's disposition to be a franchise owner. There were three other people in line and they all agreed with me and said that basically, everyone is unfriendly in the shop. I certainly won't be coming back to this store anytime soon.

Wow. Simply trying to mail out a small package and the guy behind the counter (Scott) was incredibly rude. He was completely impatient, when I asked for clarification about my mailing options, he was short, sarcastic, I was literally offended with his attitude and asked him to calm down and that I simply wanted to know what my options were. There was no one else in the place.. He never asked me about insurance it, or if there was anything hazardous, etc in it. Finally, I asked him if he could tell me when it might be delivered? He looked at me and said: “I don’t know!” I said, “you don’t know? Will it be next month, next week?” He said “it could be next month, yeah.” Really angry older man, taking out what ever his frustrations are on his customers. I will never go here again ... ever.

I came in to Postal Annex on Beaverton Hillsdale this afternoon around 2:15pm. I've been mailing packages here for years and have always appreciated their good customer service. I had 8 flat packages to mail out to different addresses, items I needed to purchase a box for and send, and then I needed to use their fax machine. The flat packages were adorable little halloween art I made with my 14 month old son to send to family, and today would have been the last day to get these in the mail in time for Halloween without paying for expedited shipping. Anyways the older man who helped me seemed really put off by the amount of packages I had. There was no one else in the store and no customers came in at all while I was there. I set the 2 small candles, artwork and handmade soaps I had to mail on his counter and asked which package I should purchase to mail them in. He made a chuckle sound that I perceived as rude but told myself maybe I misinterpreted it. After all I had 30 minutes left to get them in the mail today and didnt have time to drive anywhere else. He helped me pick a box and then we went to enter the recipient's address, which wasnt in the system anymore. Again, I've mailed so much throughout the years that mostly everyone I ship to regularly has always had an address stored in their computer. I told him I had texted my husband to get the address and he'll get right back to me. Sensing he was running out of patience I said "Dont worry, that was the only complicated thing I had to send, everything else is easy peasy". The next item was an envelope with 3 small baby clothing items in it. We selected the address and I asked for the cheapest route. He pointed to the option on his screen that said $7.75 for USPS ground. He stated, "This is going to be the best route for you." Seeing that there was another option on the screen he was pointing at for $3.75, I then asked, (and mind you, I sensed I was a bother to him and so I remained polite not trying to tip him over the edge by any means) I asked him why that route wouldnt work for me. I said "is it because it's not a flat envelope?" His face became clearly angry and he put his hands up to his temples and he closes his eyes and said, "It always amazes me" then he shakes his head and proceeds. "Now, why on earth, when you ask me the best route to ship it, and I respond with pointing at THIS one, why on earth would you ask ME why NOT THAT one???" I responded calmly so as to not further escalate him, I said, "is your goal here to make me feel stupid?". He looked dumbfounded and further angered. I told him I'd been coming here for years to mail things and fax and scan and that I've never ever been treated to unfairly. I asked him why he was treating me this way and said "because you are being a royal pain." I told him the 2 young men who work there are always so helpful and that maybe he should let them take over the store. I also said life's too short to be so nasty to people and he clearly needed a break from work. That's when he yelled at me to get out. So that's that.
