We had Derek from Overhead Door come and install a new model that included wifi and a camera in the ceiling mounted opener. Derek took the old opener and reinstalled it into another bay that didn't have one. This is a fantastic garage door opener, very quiet and you can open and close it from anywhere because of it's wifi connection. It has bright motion activated led light that we love! Derek was very polite and on time. He really impressed us with his knowledge and efficiency with the installation, he even programmed my car's built in remote opener. We also had spoken with Sierra who scheduled the appointment and she was very professional and knowledgeable about the product. We have used Overhead Door for years and will continue to due to the quality products and great service they offer!

Yes, you do. You can either open the door by hand until it clicks back into the carriage on the chain or belt (depends on what you have) or run the operator until it clicks in. You might need to pull the pull-cord back a bit first so the release pin is up. Hope that helps.
