I travel a fair bit and I’ve rented cars from many different companies . I actually am an Emerald Member of National Car Rentals but I booked this rental through a 3rd party and my experience was nothing short of incredible. The representative in the Bellingham WA airport ( his name is Matt ) was so good. His demeanor and politeness were superb but he took customer service to a new level. I left my passport in the rental and didn’t notice until I got home. After a labour intensive effort to work with Budget’s on-line customer service people I received a call from Matt reassuring me he had found my passport and would be happy to return it via fed ex. He went out of his way to go to a fed ex location nearby and through an arduous process he managed to send it back to me. It’s employees like Matt that make me want to rent cars in the future from Budget I will certainly do that.

Called July 12 to ask if I needed a credit card to book a reservation. Was told I didn't need it as long as I had $200 deposit.. np booked it same day for Aug 14-16 Get there and the guy tells me I can't rent a car because I don't have credit... And further tells me that nobody at his office would've said that and basically told me I made it all up... I wouldn't have tried to book if I needed credit that's why I called... Very rude owner tried to tell me I talked to someone at the 1-800... Nope sorry, I hung up when the local number said transferring. I asked the seemingly nice LADY if she was here in Bellingham and after confirming even talked about the the heat wave... Bottom line VERY rude owner told me I was LYING about his employee giving me wrong information about me being able to rent a car. As if making it up would give me credit... That's why I called 2 months in advance; to make up stories right?! Enterprise downtown ended up giving me a BETTER CAR for $100 CHEAPER with BETTER INSURANCE COVERAGE and a $100 deposit with absolutely ZERO CREDIT vs the $200 these guys tried to charge WITH "QUALIFYING CREDIT"!!!
