Wonderful staff that truly cares about their residents. Tons of activities and great communication with family. Definitely recommend!

I worked here formerly and coming back feels like home! There was lots that needed to be done to bring the facility back to it's former glory and under the exceptional administration of Kandi Hanson, I am watching exactly that happen. She has brought together a wonderful, experienced, and caring team, and with every challenge, and every single day, the improvements are not just visibly noticeable, but also, and especially, felt in the heart and the entire atmosphere. I'm so proud to work here again, and so proud to be a part of this wonderful "family", and yes indeed, I would recommend it to those searching for a place that feels like home, and I would certainly suggest Avalon Care Center Keizer to those I love for long or short term quality care! I LOVE the photos of an engaged community! You are NEVER too old to learn, to adventure, to be reminded that YOU are important and wonderfully viable no matter what age! Kudos to this great team and their drive for excellence.

I moved my wife from Molalla Care Center about 2 weeks ago to Sherwood Park in keizer, oregon. My wife has trouble with moving her head and needs to have her T.V at eye level. I've explained this to Brenda, Tracy Jackson and Michel there Maintenance man. Michel's idea was to us washers on the T.V mounts in order to angle the T.V down. My wife still has to look up at the T.V. The T.V mount needs to be lowered or it needs to be replaced with a universal mount of some type. I've told them that this (watching t.v) to my opinion is very important to the patients. I know my wife has Dementia but she still seems to enjoy watching the t.v. I went in to visit my wife. When I walked through the front door I could see my wife sitting in the middle of lunch room. She was crying and very upset. I noticed someone sitting over by the back wall laughing. I think it was another patient I'm not sure. There was several C.N.A's and a Nurse in the area. They were just continuing with there jobs and ignoring what was happening in front of them. P.S There's nothing I can do about how your staff treats the residents but I sure would like to see my wife be able to watch T.V. Live long and Prosper kris

My spouse worked here and after seeing how they treat the residence and neglect them he got a better job. From my understanding the state has been in numerous times. The most recent visit was for a couple of the residence of the facility who have since passed away had maggots in their wounds from not being properly taken care of. If you care about your loved ones this certainly is not the place for them to be. By no means are maggots in somebody's wounds and acceptable thing this place should just be shut down already.
