Food was pretty good (for a Natl Park restaurant). Server was really nice and attentive. I really liked their pepper and gouda cheese soup. For the record, we went there 45 minutes before closing time and waited 15 minutes for a table.

Making reservations to eat buffet is the most ridiculous thing I've seen and I'm talking a very small buffet 3sides 3mains and salad. Loved waiting in a 1/2hr line to get a plate too. $49.99 for my vegetarian wife to get soup and salad is disgusting. Save yourself the trouble and have Country Buffet before you come. You'll be happier and save 80%.

The only dining at the Old Faithful Inn right now is a mediocre buffet. Very limited options and you have to wait in line as there is only one buffet for the entire, big, restaurant. Would be nice if they would split up the salad area from main dishes. Might feel less like a production line. Food aside, the service and the servers were very attentive. There are just not enough dining options in the park right now for the amount of people that are here. Reviews said to bring your own food, but without a refrigerator, those options are limited.

The sweet spot is 4:45-5pm. People start lining up at 3:30pm and have to wait til 4:30pm for the doors to open. Once the first wave is seated, around 4:45pm they start handing out pagers and it's a 30-90min wait. So you can go check out Old Faithful or the store and not have to wait in the actual line to get in. Once in- you will have to wait around 20min in the buffet line for your food. So stock up the first time and don't plan to go twice. The buffet menu was limited, but everything we had was decent. Not amazing, just decent. But still a good experience and I would do it again. Also there is whip cream for the apple crisp if you ask your server!
