Painted Rock Beach

A must see if you like art, inspirational quotes, funny sayings, colorful painted rocks, or you want to paint and leave your own rock. Every year there are more and more rocks. We painted our own in celebration of 49 years together. I coated it with 3 layers of clear UV resistant urethane. Hopefully it will last a while. A lot of people seem to have trouble finding the beach. There is no parking near the entrance so we park on Ave U by The Tides By The Sea hotel or the Osprey Cafe and walk down Ocean Vista Drive to Ave W. The trail to the beach is on the right side of 2410 Ocean Vista Dr.

I’m a rock painter so this particular place was really important for me to visit. I brought several rocks from Wisconsin and placed them there. When I went back to the beach two days later my rocks had all been taken. I only saw one very small sign that said not to take the rocks. If someone reads this who is in that area, could you request a larger sign? Or even paint one on a piece of driftwood? I’d be really sad if I had painted a memorial rock and it was stolen. This is such a cool place. I’d hate for it to be ruined because of theft.

I love this place. I usually stay right across the street from this place. Very peaceful. I usually go for a run along the beach. I will continue to visit this place for as long as they have it here.

A must - see! Very unique and fun. The driftwood makes for a picturesque view. So fun to see all the painted rocks!
