If you’re wondering what happened to all the Steak n Shake restaurants well, they disappeared sadly. They couldn’t get employees before the pandemic so coming out of the pandemic they changed to ordering through touch screen or the mobile app. This location has been great and is the closest to my home although it’s not close at all. I use the mobile app to order and then we go eat inside. It lets us order a little early and it’s ready when we get there. The food is consistently good. Hot and fresh. If your cheap like me but want a great meal stick with the $4 meal and add cheese for your fries. Perfection and fills you up!

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience!! I ordered two large meals. When we checked our bags, we had small fries yet large drinks. I was met with attitude when I asked about the large order of fries by a girl with short curly hair in a bun and tattoos. I believe the manager came over and asked for the receipt. I gave it to her and explained that we specified large while ordering after they insinuated it was our fault for not ordering large, and instead of correcting their mistake insisted that I pay for the large fries. If they would've been kind and explained the situation I would've done so, but I was met with a short temper and ignorance. I just got off of a night shift I myself managed so I understand being overwhelmed and frustrated, but you make the moment right for the customer- end of story. Horribly dissatisfied.

My cousins from CA wanted to have another Steak burger before catching their plane so I brought them to Steak n Shake again for their flight home. They loved the burgers and wished Paradise, CA had a Steak n Shake or even Chico, CA had one. They throughly enjoyed the burgers and handmade shake's.

10:40 pm Sunday. 4-5 employees and no answer at drive thru. Doors locked. Employees purposely and completely ignore your presence. Closing time is midnight. Stop funding business who lack customer service after the "pandemic"

The CEO said he would reformat them as they were losing profits but there were hardly any takers. You had to invest 10k of your own money plus take a course which tauted very frequently successful graduates and you would gain 50 percent of the profits. I too miss their chili. But toward the end , they only filling the cups by 50 percent.
Just guessing it would depend on the particular location. Special's are input in the cash register and often ""timed" ... if so, I'd guess you'd only get the discount if you paid by 5:00
Steak & Shake has very poor service. Yes, food is made fresh but often sits waiting to be brought to table. People have to wait to ask for drink refills, napkins, etc.....then wait forever to have them brought to you. I personally no longer go to this particular Steak'n Shake. I go to one off of Mexico Rd or the one on Jungermann.
