I am writing this review for people who don't hike much like myself. It starts off at 9375ft in elevation and you eventually end up at 11,131ft. It is an 1800ft gain at 28% grade. You are basically walking up a steep hill for 3.3 miles. I only hike a little, so this was an extreme challenge for me. There was one point I didn't think I would make it but I did finish it. It took us 4 hours to hike up and 2 hours down. It was worth it as it was incredibly beautiful at the lake. County Road 7 to the trailhead was good to drive. You could take a car but there are parts of the road that have ruts probably from when wet and people driving through mud. If in a car, just go slow.

Most beautiful hike I’ve ever done! Challenging, but worth it. The trail is very narrow in a lot of places with really steep drop offs. Very steep, definitely need trekking poles. In the summer there’s wildflowers and waterfalls everywhere. Great to do with dogs.

Breathtaking! Completely worth the hike. Mostly hiking up to the lakes, down going back. Take plenty of water and snacks. Make sure to hike up after getting to the lower lake, its even prettier from above.
