Great views, but hard to get to at the moment road is a bit rough and would not recommend going on unless you have decent ground clearance 7" or so. Last mile is the tricky part. But also currently there are two large snow drifts blocking the way into the camp site rite at the sign for it. There is also a down tree making it nearly impossible to drive to the other sites, and porta John's are knocked over.
Swifty
Very nice place to visit, the campsites are clean and well apart from other sites. Caught many 10" Trout. The night sky is incredibly clear at 11,300ft - you'll feel as though you can reach out and grab a star. Any vehicle can make it up but of course it is better to have AWD or 4WD as mentioned by other reviewers. There are remnants of old communities on your drive up, a great opportunity to take a little break and snap some pictures!

This campground is amazing but if your coming here be prepared for a 30-45 min drive up the mountain. Definitely requires 4WD and a high clearance vehicle. There’s some campsites along the road up but many were closed.

This is not a worthwhile stop for hiking. It's just primitive campsites and small mud-bottom lakes. Our dogs kept finding dead fish to roll around in. We left after walking around the lakes in less than 20 minutes. There were mosquitoes and lots of big trucks and dirt bikes to watch out for. The road is a mess, too... Narrow and rocky

We didn't do any fishing so I can't help ya with that question but I did see alot of folks with their poles so I would imagine it's not too bad.
It's cold but swimmable
Calls may be tricky. My group had more service than any of us were expecting, but personally it went in/out quite often. Also depends on the exact spot you find yourself in.
The lake is gorgeous. I've only done day trips so I haven't seen the campground area much.
Yes
last time I was there, a high clearance, non-4wd, could access it. However, 4wd might be preferable after any rain. as "potholes" & dips are deep.
June 1st, but the lakes were still frozen a few days ago.
