With the weather changing to alot of rainy days the fields are taking a beating at the grass fields. Should be in good shape in the spring.

Best Club in PDX Area for money vs quality of staff.

The volunteers, players, and coaches we have interacted with have been great, and I'd go as far as to say exceptional... the 1-star does not reflect these good people. It is solely aimed at the Washington Timbers FC administrative staff, who are terrible. I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel compelled after my wife, son, and I were treated so poorly. (1) Their communication is awful and has been since our family started with the organization almost 3 years ago. I coached for them the first year and scratched my head numerous times at how bad the communication was and how utterly disorganized they were. (2) They run great coaches out of the league with their terrible policies and rules... these are unpaid volunteers who are phenomenal - who does this?!?! This just happened again this summer. (3) Their business practices have proven to be deplorable after they pulled the rug out from under us. They decided that they were going to keep our money after blowing up the nucleus of our team. They did offer a refund minus some arbitrary $20 admin fee that they pulled out of the air, but then decided to not give us anything back after we made the decision that our son was no longer going to play because his all-time favorite coach would no longer be coaching (remember, they ran him out of the league). They are happy to take your money, but don't expect much else from this group of people. It's not about the money for us now, it's about their ethics and business practices at this point. They were given every opportunity to do the right thing, but opted for the alternative. Organizations who govern themselves this way and operate with a "holier than thou" attitude need to be called out. We really tried to sort things out with them in a professional manner, but their communication has been almost zero and their "couldn't care less" attitude was the last straw. My children will play soccer elsewhere and I truly hope that others will share their negative experiences with this organization operating behind the scenes. If you've had a good experience with them... be thankful, but proceed with caution! It's so unfortunate that a great community has to deal with this subpar administration.

Tryouts for club (academy) soccer are the beginning of May but an 8 year old would be in Junior academy. I would call and see if there are any openings in the younger ages. Good luck!!
