Removable dentures on implants in the upper jaw require four implants, and up to a maximum of eight for most patients. For the lower jaw, because the bone is more solid, some patients only require two implants, but it tends to be between two and four, up to a maximum of eight.
Factors such as how many implants are placed, how many teeth are on your denture, and the material used for your dentures will affect the cost of implant-supported removable dentures. Call us today to book a free consultation to get a more detailed cost estimate.
They can be! Removable dentures on implants or “snap-in dentures” can be taken out easily by the patient for cleaning and maintenance. Alternatively, dentures can be permanently fixed to implants. This is a more expensive option and they can only be removed by your dentist or denturist for cleaning.
Patients are anesthetized when they get dental implants so they should not experience any pain during the procedure. Following the surgery, some pain and discomfort is expected. Your discomfort can depend on how many implants are placed and a number of other factors. Be sure to follow any directives from your dentist and denturist for managing any post-surgical pain after tooth extractions.
Food can get trapped under your dentures. This is more likely if your dentures aren’t fitting properly, which is why it’s so important to get your dentures relined regularly and to speak with your denturist about any issues you are having. At the same time, your denturist can offer you a number of tips for preventing food from getting stuck under your dentures when you eat.
For patients prone to grinding their teeth or clenching their jaw while they sleep, a night guard is incredibly important if they plan to sleep with their dentures in. Night guards for dentures work just like night guards for natural teeth, and we’re pleased to provide this product for our patients. Call for a free consultation to learn more.
Yes, and it is important to do so if you plan to play contact sports when you wear your dentures! We offer sports guards for dentures to help you protect your dentures and your lips and tongue while you play sports.
Yes! We offer denture bleaching trays customized to your unique dentures to help you keep them as white and bright as possible without missing any spots.
It’s important to use products specifically meant for dentures when you clean them. Otherwise, you risk damaging your dentures and needing to replace them more frequently. This includes using products specifically meant for dentures, which your denturist will be happy to recommend.
Removable dentures should be cleaned at least once a day. For most patients, it is most convenient to do this at night when they take their dentures out to sleep.
For soft relines, most patients get this done at least once a year. Hard relines may last two years or longer, but in both cases, it can depend on the patient.
Hard denture relines, as their name suggests, involve relining the denture with a more solid material. On the other hand, soft relines offer more shock-absorbency which can be beneficial for dentures with sensitive gums.
A denture reline helps ensure a proper, comfortable fit. This process involves resurfacing your denture base with a new material to fill in any gaps or spaces between the denture and your gums, the roof of your mouth, or other dental tissue.
Denture repair costs vary depending on the extent of the damage if teeth are missing or damaged, and the materials required to repair the denture. Call us for a free consultation where we can give you a detailed estimate.

After tooth extraction surgery, it will take time for your tissues to heal before you can get permanent dentures. Understandably, over these months, patients don’t want to be without teeth! With the help of same-day dentures, you don’t have to go a day without your smile. They aren’t right for every patient, but during your free consultation at Berlanga Dentures, you can find out if they’re right for you.
Following tooth extraction surgery, your dentist and denturist will advise you to keep your immediate dentures in for the first 24 hours. This is because if they are taken out too soon, you risk your gums swelling too much to be able to return them to your mouth. Additionally, they can help keep swelling down while they’re in and prevent additional discomfort.
Absolutely! Just keep in mind, it can take some time to get comfortable with eating and speaking with your dentures. To ease into this, we recommend focusing on soft, easy-to-chew foods as you adjust to your denture. It can also be difficult to eat particularly sticky foods, even once you’re used to your denture. For some patients, it is best to avoid these foods altogether.
Some patients get a partial denture for a single missing tooth, while others may have several missing teeth for which they use a partial denture to fill in any gaps.
Unlike full dentures that replace all of your teeth, partial dentures can fill in the gaps when one or several teeth are missing, but some of your natural teeth still remain.
Although a complete set of adult teeth consists of 32 teeth, a full set of dentures might not include that many. However, they will typically include at least 20 teeth. It’s important to have enough teeth on your full denture to support your facial structures and facilitate easier eating, chewing, and speaking.
Depending on their oral health history and if proper molds and jaw measurements can be taken, approximately 95% of patients can get dentures the same day as they get teeth pulled. These are known as same-day or immediate dentures, which can be worn until your gums are healed enough for permanent dentures.
No matter what kind of dentures you get, the best ones are the ones that fit comfortably, feel good, and give you a look you are happy with. Additionally, they need to be crafted with high-quality materials from an experienced denturist.
Removable dentures, including full dentures, partial dentures, and implant overdentures, are designed to be taken out to be cleaned. Most patients remove their dentures at night for cleaning, and this also gives their gums and bones a chance to rest from the pressure.
For many people, getting dentures prove to be a life-changing event. With proper-fitting, comfortable dentures, patients are able to eat, speak, and live more comfortably and with more confidence. While they might not be right for every person, the majority of people who are dealing with missing or damaged teeth can find a denture solution that works for them.
If you are wearing new dentures, there may be an adjustment period as you learn to speak, eat, and chew with them. During this time, your speech may be affected, including a lisp that is typically only temporary.
The cost of dentures varies significantly from patient to patient depending on the materials used, the number of teeth on the denture, if implants are used, if extractions are required, and many other factors. The best way to find out what your dentures will cost is to book a free consultation with us at Berlanga Dentures.
