Amazing! Very nice and different trail. We saw a lot of frogs, turtles and water and land snakes.

We just love this place. We have been in all seasons and all types of weather. Spring and fall is best for birds but we still saw quite a few in winter. The path on both ends of the boardwalk can be muddy at times and on gorgeous days it can get busy so pick your times. Parking changes often it seems, depending on weather and local posting.

very boring trail.. last quarter mile has the rail road crossings and the Cow pasture.. better of just parking at the end of this trail on route 94 and hiking back a bit.. then continue up the mountain to the over look..

This is the furthest place to park to start the trail for Stairway to heaven. If you want to skip the boardwalk and bridges, you can park in the hikers lot, close to the barn, which is almost a halfway point to the top. Parking here is in the shoulder along the guardrail, there are no bathrooms as shows in the old google map photo. You can use the. bathrooms at the barn(porta potties) whether you start there or hang a left on the highway after you cross the cow pasture. This was about a 10 mile hike round trip (including a stop at the barn on the way back). The hike is easy until you reach the base of the boulders, then it's an all uphill rock scramble from there. Definitely give yourself enough daylight and do not go when it has rained the day before. Follow the white blazes. When you get to the huge rock pile, there is a sign to go left (blue blazes) You are only a few feet from the beautiful view.

Where can you find parking

Basically on the street or drive to Heaven Hill farm for free parking and start your hike from there. On a way back try delicious homemade ice cream at the farm. If you choose to park on the street come early and park only on a right side of the street next to entrance otherwise a violation ticket will be issued by NJ patrol of $51.
