The staff is really friendly and helpful from when you 1st walk in until you leave. I took my 1st Group Active fitness class and was so surprised how much fun I had and how sore I was the next day. Jenn C, the instructor, had amazing energy, smooth instructions and made this first timer want to come back!

A trainer walked by while I was doing yoga and insisted I put shoes on. You don’t do yoga in shoes. I told her I would wear them the next day but she demanded I go to my locker immediately and put them on. The demeaning and belittling way she spoke to someone twice her age left me feeling humiliated. I have never returned. When I called to cancel my membership, the gal insisted I come in, cancel in person and sign a form. I said I’m already in another town and don’t have time to drive back to Bangor. She said she’d send an email with a pdf of the form. I should print it out and send it. I didn’t have access to a printer but she didn’t care. They were going to pull the money out from my card anyway. I had to get a new bank card in order to stop the payment going out. When I joined another ymca in a different town, I asked them how I should cancel my membership when the time came. They said come in and cancel or just call, whichever is convenient. That’s the proper way to treat members but the unkind way Bangor ymca treats their members is despicable. They are vile.

First day. I decided to start with a dance class. The instructor had great energy, was great at giving instructions. As a very anxious person I felt super comfortable there. Used the fitness room after and it was great!

I believe they still have classes there and even though the place opens at 5:30 weekdays and 6:30 weekends they don't hold them classes until early to late afternoon, I would call and inquire after they open and I'm sure you'll get the answers you need
Hi Mariah! A day pass to our Y is $10 and is valid for the entire day.
Definitely! Sometimes people will use a day pass to take a shower. A day pass is $10 per visit. If your sister is a member of another Y, she can also use our Y without any additional cost thanks to our Y's Nationwide Membership. All she'll need to do is bring a valid photo ID and let our Welcome Center know which Y she is a member of.

We don't have one specifically for those with Parkinson's but you may be interested in our less intense cycling class called Ridin' to the Oldies: https://www.bangory.org/fitness/group-classes/ridin-to-the-oldies/ We have both! For our cycling class, we use stationary. We have recumbent bikes in our Fitness Center.
4:30 am Monday - Friday and I believe it's 6:30 sat and Sunday
