I had nowhere to go and these folks provided a space for me to get back up and reestablish my footing. The services are modest of course, considering the budget they must have to work within but still they find a way for folks that come in through the door. The staff are accomodating and strive to help ppl find a way to see themselves to a better place when they leave. Im pretty sure the basement is haunted.

Kind, respectful and helpful staff that help with case management to help find housing and other needs. Plenty of food available for residents, bagged lunch among other foods for the homeless community. Mental health help also.

we had three hits and a cot the people who run it are regular people some very nice and others not but it is a place to get in out of the elements stay warm and dry with a place to smoke cigarettes off to the back of the parking lot you will receive help in getting into an appartment but it takes some time for this

I personally have not been there for more than a minute or two but have heard all good things from a few of those that have stayed there or involved in some way. They have a strict policy, which allows them to do for the public in the manner that they do. They are a dry shelter, food cupboard, few other services that they provide, just unsure of myseld. Those in need are treated the same way as who are not, meaning no worse or better, than. They provide a lot of services and support for the community as well as the homeless. They do great things for those who are need.

At 12 noon Bangor shelter on Main Street provides meal for everyone
No .....wouldn't recommended it thought, try Hope House ,much better .......
I was there for 5 1/2 months, but got burned on the voucher, don't recommend that place at all.....
I've been homeless. Once WITH my teenager, who is now missing. She's not getting any help at all, and she's pregnant. This area allows children 14+ to sign themselves out of mental health facilities... and apparently allows them to go to shelters without their parent's knowledge or permission.
Where are you fromif you are from main you can jrop them off at them at the stone charch frst st unyon st we are on the cornerwe give out to the homelis and other people in need.
Dennis prides himself on throwing people out in the cold actually heard him insult a guy .almost pick a fight then when the client spoke back he used the only card he has to play in life and kick the guy out. Jay a old man with dyed blue hair kicked a client out at 1am in 15 degree weather. For laughing at. His hair .she obviously was mentally challenged and amused. By his bright blue hair . only two people at warming center was a guy Tim .one of the best guys I've ever met so caring.and Melissa .A great lady. And a guy named Sarge. Real good guy. Dennis you have no business being employed their . you bully people whom are down .as you are. Week and try to shine .
Yes it doesn't matter where you are from...however they don't always have beds available even if you call and ask they will tell you that you need to come in...which you will have to do anyway because they will ask you for basic info as well as do a background check...if you've anything on your background that you might think will not allow you to stay there they will still accept you as long as you are honest about everything...the bah is a dry shelter which means you are subject to a breathalyzer test and a drug search if they have reason to believe that you are carrying drugs on you...if you prefer not to stay at the bah there is also the hope house which is a wet shelter meaning you are not allowed to bring contraband into the facility however if you show up there drunk or high they will still take you even if they have no beds they will give you a mat on the floor until a bed becomes available
