So I've been using Penquis Transportation on and off for a few years now and at first it was great and there were no issues. I had rides as early as I needed and was able to get home in time to get ready for work or whatever my day consisted of. Since December 2021 things have definitely gone down hill in a major way with the dispatchers and scheduling and whomever I've dealt with aside from the drivers. The drivers have been 100% great and always on time with the exception of one or 2 bad apples, I have nothing but good with the drivers. But having to call and change my time because of the appointment needing to be longer has become impossible. The disrespect and straight out discrimination from the dispatchers and schedulers is definitely not what you'd expect from a so called professional in such a position.

I called today. I am a first time mom. An I needed some help with something. The person I spoke to was not helpful. She seemed burnt out and like she hated her job and everyone. I ended up hanging up on her feeling like I was defeated and accomplished nothing for my daughter. There is no way this place has 4 stars on the reg. After my experience and reading down through the reviews. It’s a lie.

I was just told call back Monday for emergency fuel cuz I’m not out yet? So I was told basically wait until your kids are freezing! And call Monday she refuses to help! Erica I think you miss the point of emergency help! Could be out by Monday she said can you go buy some well if this isn’t the lowest s I’ve ever felt if I could I wouldn’t be calling you and can’t get in touch with anyone to help

Penquis CAP is for ongoing assistance, sometimes they can help with electric or other utilities, but General Assistance is great for emergency help. Same for DHHS, you can get some assistance with shelter, but that's the hub for food stamps and health insurance. Hope you get on your feet soon.

Hi Brooke! At this time there is not help for direct help with Mortgage payments although we have heard discussions of that. We are unsure of those details at this time. Our MaineStream Finance services does offer some housing services around how to speak with lenders and foreclosure prevention options that may be helpful.
