Absolutely unintelligent group of workers. Mailed my vehicle title request and filled out the forms as directed by one of the workers. I had them on the phone while I was filling it out and I went over the form multiple times with the representative. Called to follow up with the title request 8 weeks later (as advised by the DMV) They ended up mailing my title to the bank by mistake. Their solution to me was the following: (1) call the location that they mailed my title to and request for it from them (when clearly they mailed it to the wrong place) (2) resubmit the application with the fee. I am absolutely infuriated by the incompetency and the negligence of the oregon DMV. Why is their mistake my responsibility. They are a liability. Why can’t they reissue the title to me without a fee and CORRECT their own mistake rather than having me correct their mistake?!?!? Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed by the lack of intelligence.

Excellent service in Albany, OR today, 7/1/2022. Needed to get a real license. Had an appt, was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Micah was great to work with!! I always dread the DMV, but if you make an appt online, it will be so much easier. Wow, a first great experience with DMV!!

I waited 4-1/2 hrs to get in line, then another 30 min to speak to someone. I needed a duplicate Title for my car. They said I'd have it within 2-3 weeks. Over a month later I don't have it & am getting warnings from the Sheriff that I am driving illegally. I've called numerous times & been told there's a 2 hr wait to speak to a rep. I'm a senior citizen & have trouble getting around. This makes it impossible for seniors to deal with Oregon DMV.

They completely shut down during Covid and so when it came time to register my vehicle and sent in paperwork but didn't have personal check thought maybe they would accept it and send me bill or other option to pay because no offices open and they don't have option to pay online with credit card. NOPE!! They sent all the paperwork back to an address that I didn't even put down on form even though my GD phone number was on the form. Well the title was lost! LOST! GONE! No accountability on their part, just a "that's too bad". Oregons response to COVID-19 in some ways was good, in others, was bad! This was a bad one. Super bummed at DMV for not taking the extra step instead denying it altogether and sending out important information willy nilly. Be careful!

There's a list of items on the oregon DMV website if you look under titles, because from what I understand you pretty much have to get a whole oregon title when transferring. You'll probably need to fill out and send them a Title Transfer Application (I think that's what it was called) along with the payment, your birth certificate, you're current title, and a couple other things. I recommend looking at the website to double check though, I had to do a little digging as well.
Am I eligible for reinstatement of driver licn.
I need to renew my license.. How do I go about it. I'm 82 do I need. tto take a test
We are working on getting a new system but this option won't be in place until the middle of 2020.
Franklin, Carol's got it right, you're going to need your birth certificate to prove who you are.
Vehicles only
The person to whom the car is being given. That name will go on the new title.
I have no idea about this. Not sure exactly if this has to do with this DMV. This DMV use to be a lot quicker before they moved and got bigger. But they still have a bunch of good employees in there that can help with just about anything.
Are any DMV offices open for walk-ins. I can't get an appiontment until after my permit expires. I've passed my driving test (and knoweldge test) but can't get a drivers license till I get into DMV. Couldn't I just come in for that.
Rob, I would look at Oregon D M V website for basic costs, title, transfer, etc. I'm sure you could get a pretty good idea on the total amount you'd need. Otherwise give them a call first thing Monday. Hope that helps! Bill
No. They used to be, many years ago, but all DMV offices are now closed on Saturdays.
You have a bill at motor vehicles division ?
I really could not answer that question I would go back to DMV and ask them... DMV headquarters on Lana avenue.. or even that call traffic Court I think calling the courthouse cuz they can look up the record would do you much more better.. I would be afraid to drive to if I were you behind that..
503-945-5000 is the phone number. Ask the agent to explain a driver history, vs. a certified court print, I think you need the latter. Check out OregonDMV.com, click on 'Records' at the top of the page, that will also give you forms and info to order your record.
You need to go in and ask
It would be better to go into DMV and ask... Don't try to call you won't get nobody on the phone
No Monday - Friday
If it has been over 7 weeks, contact the DMV. Do not cancel the check till you talk to them.
Do you mean a driver's license? Or do you mean license plate for the vehicle? If you mean driver's license, the answer is no, you do not need to have a driver's license to own a vehicle in Oregon. You only need to be listed on the title and you can be any age with or without a license. If you meant a license plate, Oregon only requires a plate with current stickers be on the vehicle if it is being driven on Oregon roads. If the it's being repaired or stored, it does not need to have a plate on it.
A dealer is not required to have the title and they are not required to put the vehicle in their name. They are required to send certian documents to the DMV while they obtain those documents, called a Transitional Ownership Document or TOD. So long as they have the release from all previous owners, they do not need to ever submit the Oregon title (althea could submit a 515 instead, with appropriate releases).
You can submit a vehicle sold notice online,, but that is not a bill of sale. This will stop most anything being done to that title record until the new owner comes to claim it. An original bill of sale will still need to be submitted with appropriate paperwork by the new owner.
Yes according to ORS 803.540 plates must be displayed on the front and rear of the vehicle, the plates must be in plain view, so as to be read easily by the public. It is a class D traffic violation for failure to display a front and rear plate. Motorcycles, campers, trailers are only issued 1 plate and must displayed on the rear
It depends on why your SR22 was applied. Driving without insurance sr22 is 3 years. I think DUII is longer, but you'll want to call for that info.
Actually, if you husband currently carries a valid Oregon credential, he does not need to complete form 265pip - only 265. Doctor needs to complete authorization. Term length and doctor approval valid during length of credential and requires renewal. Oregon does not have handicap license plates.
If there is one common owner between both vehicles you can do a "plate transfer" if the plates are both still actively registered, then the fee should be $6. It might be $12 for two vehicles. You should be able to do this on the DMV2U website. If you wanted to mail it with a check, you will need form 268, which theres a pdf on our website. The branch is the fastest way and all locations are taking walk ins, but earlier is better. Hope that helps!
You would have to repay the fee for the driver’s license. Since the ID was already issued, that fee would not be refunded or used toward the new driver’s license
If the college student is not listed on their parents policy, you would need to register the car in the state that you live in for most of the year. If they are listed on their parents policy, they can keep the car registered in their home state and disclose to the insurance company that they are a distant student.
Can find form off Oregon.gov website and mail it in with Dr approval. Or you can mail in letter requesting form for us to mail form, fill out and mail it back.
I need to renew my Driver's License. What Dept/address do I need to go to? Thanks
New Years Day observed - Friday, Dec. 31, 2021 No all DMV's will be closed on Friday December 31st, 2021
I think the easiest way is to go to DMV2U
Under both Washington and Oregon law, you can turn right on a solid red arrow (the same as a solid red light) provided it's safe to do so, you come to a full stop, traffic is clear, and you stay out of the intersection as you wait, unless there's a sign posted that prohibits it.
I believe 6 months
If the vehicle was previously titled in Oregon, it would not need a Vin inspection. Depending on what you are wanting to do with it, would determine the course of action.
There is a very good possibility you can simply go there and be seved quickly. I went a couple days ago, walked right in took a number and was out within minutes with a title transfer. I believe they all do the vin inspections.
On the Application for Title and Registration (form 226) both of you would have to be listed as owners on the application and on line 13 you would check “Yes” for Joint Owners or Lessees agree that title will show joint ownership with the right of survivorship. If you have already submitted this application and checked this box then you should be good to go, if you haven’t done this yet. You will have to complete the (form 226) and pay for a new title with both owners listed on it
Hello, you can either keep it for souvenir, destroy it, or keep it just in case you want to put this plate onto another RV that you own or will be owned if you want to transfer this plate to that RV.
A provisional license is also referred to as a "driver's permit". It is available to 15-17 year-olds. It allows those who have a permit to drive/practice with some that is at least 21 years old and has drivers license. The 21+ year-old must be in the front passenger seat.
In order to license it in Washington it will need to be registered in Washington
Their website says all offices have standby lines right now. They'll probably open up more/better access later this week or next, since the governor is lifting restrictions after June 30.
Just answer no to all the questions then it will transfer to a representative
Personally.... I'd say play the song "tryna catch me ridin dirty" everytime you drive. Works for me. "Power of positivity".
If you're asking about whether its reinstated, you can call. However, average wait time is an hour so you may be better off calling first thing in the morning.
You'd have to look at it yourself.
Most passenger vehicles is two years, unless it's a brand new vehicle, then its 4 years. For commercial vehicles it can be as little as 3 month, and as much as 1 year.
If its registration only transaction, like a renewal, and you submit all the proper documents correctly the first time, the turn around is less than a month. However, if you are missing anything or if your transaction includes any title changes, then it may be as much as 4 months.
You should have an email to the address you used when you set it up. If not, you can call 503 945 5000. Best to call first thing in the morning or you'll wait for an hour.
No. Normally you can drop of items in the lobby, but the lobby is closed to the public for a few more months (looks like reopening September 1st, but that's tenative).
As far as i know the vehicle side is behind on processing paperwork still. Would call customer assistance 503 945 5033 but have heard that people are having a difficult time getting through to someone with phone lines being busy. All i can say is to keep trying. Sorry your having a hard time with your transaction. Good luck!
You will need to have a death certificate for the transfer.
It usually takes a couple of weeks for the title to arrive.
It depends on the gas mileage of your vehicle. You can find the information on DMV's website.
Go to a DMV office and let them know
You go to oregon dmv website and search for " report an accident" should pop up.
Yes
Their website is Oregondmv.com, click 'renew your registration' under the 'online services' tab/banner. You could update your address first, add your AZ mailing address, so that the tags will get mailed to you there.
When you set up your appointment there should have been a screen to print with this information. Alternatively it should have been emailed to you as well. Check your email (and spam folder) for any emails from dmv.
Yes, but it has to be scheduled online. https://www.oregon.gov/odot/dmv/pages/appointments.aspx
Make an appointment on line at dmv2u
Yes, you can sign over the title of your car to your sister. https://www.oregon.gov/odot/dmv/pages/form/index.aspx
No
Youll probably need legal paper work stating the divorce. Bring it in with your i.d. and a teller can get you the right forms. They may process it there or you may have to mail it in to salem. At that i think its the cost of printing a new title or duplicate/changed title. Shouldnt be expensive at all. Bring the title with you
8 to 10 weeks.
https://www.oregon.gov/odot/dmv/pages/vehicle/titlereg.aspx
You have 60 days. Plus you have a current appointment so it's going to be excused especially with covid and the restrictions its placed
No. You need to send your paperwork to Salem or drop it off at a DMV branch office. Make sure you have original title and your application is signed. Do you need an emissions test and vin inspection? Make sure you have calculated your fees correctly. (Dec 2020)
Complete the back of the title showing how the new ownership. Send the title and a check for $77.00 to the 1905 Lana Ave address. Sorry don't remember the zip code.
Yes
DMV headquarters is closed. Field offices are open by appointment only. You should be able to find the paperwork you are looking for on the DMV2U website and then just mail it in. Due to COVID our staff is shorthanded so expect some delay. You should also be able to make an appointment on website listed abovementioned. If you have any further questions feel free to call customer assistance at 503-945-5000. I hope this helps and apologize for the inconvenience.
The website states that it can take up to 10 weeks for plates.
You can on the DMV website.
OKAY
Yes ... along with fees
It depends on the size of the trailer. You need to go on our website and research it.
Some banks just send the letter but you can complete a replacement title application a title tranfer application without the lien holder on it and attach the lien satisfaction letter. Then send it to 1905 lana Ave ne salem 97314. Make sure you sign both applications. There is a fee calculator online at our website you can use to determine the fees.
Short answer, it depends. Most of the time itll be between 98-113, depending on mpg. This is not what you think mpg is, this is what the national vehicle database says your mpg is. That does not include registration or plates. Call 5039455000 and they can tell you the fee for your vehicle.
Yes as long as the seller/buyer completes a dmv form bill of sale or a odometer disclosure/ reassignment form. You just need a clear chain of reassignment
35 ft motor homes are 313.50 for registration, good for 2 years. Titling is another matter depending on the MPG. This does not include plates or VIN inspection, if needed You should call either Customer Assistance at 5039455000 or title and registration unit 503 945 5171. You could also submit all docs to HQ by mail, a letter will be written asking for whatever is missing, including fee amount if you didnt include any money when you sent it. Hope thus helps!
There is no requirement to pay for an appointment. Please be sure you are on the official Oregon DMV website. Www.oregondmv.com
On the website, under forms. If you need a replacement with no changes in ownership, use the 515. If you need to change anything, use the 515 and the 226
No, all dmv forms are online. They have the blank pdfs and fillable ones.
Fill out the form 268 with the fees and mail it to HQ.
If it is a new vehicle (go to oregon.gov/dor and search for vehicle use tax) you may also need to pay an additional tax on it before being able to get the title.
You'll need to title it and registration. You wont be able to entirely do it online, so fill out the 226, send that in with the title and fees. Theres more if your new car is salvage, out of state, etc, so call CA at 5039455000
turn it in to any local DMV office or mail it to 1905 Lana ave ne Salem 97314 to be destroyed. Thanks!
No, we don't start issuing them until July 6th but go to our website to see if you need one at www.oregondmv.com
No. You are welcome to mail it in or stop by a Field Office.
Check with DMV for sure, but I believe you will have to add them to your title first. That is a $89.00 fee, then the registration would be updated automatically. Hope that helps, good luck!
Sorry, no. MLK Jr day is a state and federal holiday, all DMVs will be closed that day.
Yep, just like Lana says, head to your local DMV and they can get you some new ones. I've seen quite a few after just a year or so become quite faded and unreadable. Good to keep them looking right!
To transfer a title $93 Vehicle must be brought in to the local field office for a VIN inspection$7 Registration fees vary depending on the area Plates for passenger vehicles, set of 2 are $24.50 basis tree background
You need to file a police report and an accident report with DMV if the damage is more than $2500. DMV will contact the customer to file a report. You can also work with your insurance company.
No, the court case often cited on this is wildly taken out of context. You are required to have a liscense to be on public roads.
Just call 503 945 5000
I really don't know why the DMV hasn't responded to this sooner. I believe the deadline for them and Oregon to comply is October of 2020. A current passport will allow you to travel domestically until your Oregon driver's license is updated, hope that helps!
Rick, I'm not real sure for a lost title, but not to too long ago I wanted to add my daughters name to my current title and DMV said $89, if I remember correctly.
Sorry, my Spanish is not good, try calling DMV for your inquiry.
I'm not sure you need to contact department of revenue
Tough one Ted, if it was an Oregon title they will have a record of it on file. Out of state, might be a little bit harder. Call them to get the right scoop, good luck!
As a license plate collector myself, You could hang them in your garage for sentimental reasons or recycle them! Bill
Your Oregon ID card or a couple of pieces of mail with your name and address on it
Cheryl, I would start with the DMV in Salem, they should have all access to your records!
Yep! $6 to transfer your license plate from your old rv to your new rv, the registration will stay with the plate. Don't forget, the new title will be $93. So, $99 total for new title and plate transfer.
Why were they asking you to turn your license in
You can't fax a bill of sale. Bill of sale has to have original signatures, sorry. You will need to present original to local DMV field office or mail it in with your other documents and money
Nope, it doesn't need a license. It will need a license plate and registration if the weight of boat and trailer weigh more than 1,800 pounds though.
When the gross weight of the boat and trailer is 1801 pounnds, generally a boat over 17"
Yes
Regular cars are $32 for 21 days. You'll need your insurance info for the car, too.
No you don't, they are separate things. You need a driver license to drive a car. You need to own a car, have insurance and pay fees to get license plates and registration. Don't drive without a license, don't operate a vehicle without valid registration and insurance and you should be good.
Fill out another form 735-265, mark that your permit was stolen, sign the form and turn into your local DMV field office or mail to headquarters. Your Dr. does not have to sign again for a replacement. DMV will issue you a free replacement, it will have the same expiration date as the one that was stolen.
It doesn't cost anything to renew the permit but you will be required to renew your license or identification card. You will need to have an application for the permit completed by a physician. You can go to any DMV field office.
Approx 4 to 6 weeks normally, depends on how busy they are.
Depends on what type of vehicle you have. $93 for a passenger vehicle.
No, sorry.
I would ask the fire department. They can show you the proper way to install.
You can request one anytime. We have customer comment cards at all field offices. If you would like to send an email you can send it to Ask ODOT.
Go to DMV and bring with you proof of address change if you've moved since your last issuance and $26. If you are between 21 and 29 be prepared to have you're photo taken
You have to release interest/sign off the title. When the new owner applies for a new title, your name can come off. If you sell the car, notify DMV you sold it within 10 days. You can notify them on OregonDMV.com
You can get a Possessory Lien form from any DMV field office and the directions are listed on the form.
Just the knowledge test
You can change it online at oregondmv.com
Unfortunately no. We are only open Monday through Friday. If you go to our website you can find hours and wait times for your local DMV.
Not on here. Online at OregonDMV.com
Don't quote me on these prices, but here is a ball park number. $93 - New to Oregon Title $112 - Registration $24 - Plate fee $7 - VIN Inspection $236 Total + possible OR county fee (~ $60 if applicable). This of course is just title, plates and registration. Doesn't include fees for driver's license.
$ proof of address, should be all you need
1905 Lana Ave NE Salem OR 97314
You don't need an appointment. Just go take a number and make sure it is called before 4pm.
Oregon title transfer is $93. Registration varies. Standard registration is $112 with regular tree plates for 2 years. Other plates cost more. Multnomah and Washington counties charge a county fee. If the vehicle is titled out of state you need a VIN inspection which has a fee of $7
No you have to complete the replacement title application and have all owners listed on the title sign the application. Just bring that with you to any DMV office and they can process your transaction for you.
Proof of address, $40.50
Oregon DMV doesn't send registration to out of state drivers. You have to be an Oregon resident. Did you buy the car at a dealership?
Fastest to go to local dmv. Fill out form for replacement plate (s). Unless vanity plate, you will normally just get a new set. $12 per plate/$24 per set plus $10 admin fee. Replacement stickers and a new registration are included in the above fee.
You can't still owe on it and 'carry the note'. If you have a lienholder, they will need to give permission for you to add or remove someone from the title/registration. The only way to change the names on the registration is to apply for a new title.
You need to have all owners sign the application for replacement title and pay $93 if there is a lien holder you would need a release from the financial institution.
No, you need to make an appointment. Most offices are about 3 months out and it costs $9 for the test.
Need to title and reg in your name
I did look there and didn't see a specific answer. I'll look again, thank you.
You wouldn't be able to get a Oregon driver's licence only having a permit.
No the new state should take them
You will need to go into a DMV office and bring your id, the application and 40$ as long as it has not expired, if it is you will have to start over and that costd $75.00
If its something involving crime you should probably file a police report, because DMV can't give out info like that, I believe
All the answers are on the DMV website
No. Sorry. It must be done at the marine board.
Is your registration still good?
The fee for replacing a lost title is $93.
No they are state owned and operated
You can apply for a replacement title (form 515) through any field office or mail into HQ (the form is available to download from the DMV website). The fee for that is $93
Only if you move to Multnomah county (Portland) or Medford (southern Oregon). Those are the only areas that require a DEQ.
Yes
