Walked in without an appointment to inquire about consignment of a classic restomod. After being greeted by a nice woman... and a bird, she paged that department and we waited only a few minutes before being helped by Troy Johnson. We spent maybe a half hour talking about the specifics of the car, the ballpark price we wanted, and the details of the consignment process. We felt good about the situation and decided to do the paperwork. Unfortunately, we didn't realize that the registration was needed at the time of paperwork. We decided to come back the next day. Troy actually offered to drive the 2 hour round trip to our house to pick up the registration. Once the paperwork was signed and the car delivered, it sat in the inspection phase for 3 weeks. This might drive some people crazy, but we trusted the process and respected the fact that this is a unique car and needed to be verified as functional and safe. Troy assured us at the time of signing the contract, and again after the delay, that the consignment time wouldn't start until the car was officially listed. Well, that wasn't an issue because the car sold in 4 days. It was listed Friday afternoon and we got a fair offer on Monday. The deal was finalized by the end of the week. I never buy a vehicle without going to check it out in person, especially a 18 year old vehicle like the one I bought.
