We visited this place for the first time and it was worth the little drive. Great, well maintained walking trails with lots of scenery. The center has a lot of interesting information about the local critters that can be seen/found while on your walks. I would recommend a visit, especially if you're looking for someplace to get a little exercise, fresh air & nature.

This was my first time visiting the nature center, I was happy to find they have a few different (well marked) trails that just about everyone can enjoy and none of them are hard, they are definitely for someone that wants to enjoy an easy walk in nature. If you have time you can also take a peek in the info building and pickup a trail map :)

Who knew there was a beach in Kansas! This fairly secluded nature center offers a great setting to enjoy a few different ecosystems in as natural a condition as possible. The work done to reclaim what was once a working farm is amazing, if you didnt know it was one you would never believe it. There are about 6.5 miles of trails in the center and if you plan right you can walk all of them with very little overlap. A great deal of wildlife can be seen as well if you look hard enough. Not really a place for young children to roam freely but should be enjoyable nonetheless.

We had a great time here. The trails are in good shape and easy to see! Beautiful scenery, and great sand bar right on the river! Will definitely be back!

Make sure you go before you head out, because they're only in the building at the entrance.

Their website says no dogs. But the main issue is that the area floods and with all of the rain you may want to wait a bit.
