Would not recommend… sent final payment for my cat and they lost the check for months, sent in aug they found it in Oct…(paid by bank app so I never knew it wasn’t cashed) in the meantime sent me to collections(had no idea) and refused to see my dog because of that… because it was late. had been a client for 20 years. Apparently they don’t need the business anymore… been seeing some other negative reviews as well…. Sad because they once were the best in town… to bad

There was a time when North Shore was a five star veterinarian hospital. Over the last five years plus things have changed… long wait times even though you’ve made an appointment. I waited over an hour past scheduled appointment time my previous appointment and today 30 minutes past appointment time. If you’re short on staff then DON’T schedule so many appointments. This is disrespectful to the customer! Is the customers time not important? It should be! About 2 1/2 years ago we had to put down one of our beloved dogs… my wife and son wanted to be there… my wife was really concerned and needed reassurance that we were doing the right thing… we waited briefly in a room for the vet. She then explained the process, assuring my wife we were doing the right thing, it would be painless and he’d pass peacefully. (I have had others pets euthanized and know the process) To my surprise the vet did not start an IV to administer the 1st of the two shots. Instead she injected the 1st shot IM into the rear hip. My poor dog whimpered and flinched looking back at her as the shot was pushed and injected into his muscle. My wife and son were shocked, this traumatized them! They never wanna be with me if we ever have to put down another one of our beloved pets. I did explain to my family that this is not the norm, that every other time I’ve had this done they start an IV. Then they inject one shot pushing it through the IV then push the second shot and this peacefully euthanizes the animal. Unfortunately, on this day the vet chose not to follow this process. A professional veterinarian would never have done that! To this day my family still feels bad for our boy… he experienced PAIN minutes before we said good bye… I feel guilty… that’s on North Shore Vet Hospital!

Tonight my 16 year old dog went for a euthanasia consult. She was nearing the end of her well and long lived life. Not only did the vets squeeze us in (on a holiday week and on top of a COVID chaos world) but they stayed late when they had absolutely no obligation to. They were SO kind, compassionate and understanding. They listened but more importantly they gave honest feedback about my dogs quality of life. We ended up choosing euthanasia as the best option tonight. She went peacefully in my moms arms. The vet was absolutely phenomenal. I applaud every vet for doing this part of the job because I know it is mentally taxing on them as much as it is for the human who is losing the pet. I cannot say enough good things about our experience today (and in many years past) with Northshore Vet for our dog and cats. Their unwavering kindness and professionalism is top notch. I so highly recommend them. Thank you for everything you do. Your whole staff is immensely appreciated! -Maddie, April & Dolly Brooks

So far so good after the initial first visit and exam. I'm one of 'those' dog moms and used to work in the industry. The vet answered all of my questions and concerns graciously and thoroughly. My great Danes neuter is scheduled in a week. They came highly reccomended for giant breed veterinary care. Looking forward to working with them.
