Had this hotel booked since May for a concert in July... check in was 3pm, and at 2 pm on the day of the concert, I got a call that they cancelled my reservation due to a fire at the hotel the previous day. I understand accidents happen, but why was I not notified until 1 hour before check in and or offered any type of compensation or even an apology. They left me and my sister to stay in a dingy motel for double the cost because literally everyone in Columbus was booked due to there being a huge concert.

Make sure to arrive before 7PM! The property cancelled my reservation while I was on my way to the hotel! After I had stopped for dinner, I noticed I had an email stating that my reservation had been cancelled. I called the hotel and an unpleasant woman answered. I inquired as to what might be the issue, and she explained my credit card was declined. (For the record, I have a navy credit card. They expect me to travel all over the US. I've run charges from Virginia to California, and never has my card been declined for a legitimate purchase.) I explained that maybe the info was entered wrong, and asked if it could be run when I got there, since I had the card I used to book it. The woman explained that the office was closed at 7PM (the current time was 7:20PM), and there would be no one available to run a credit card until 11AM the next morning. At this point I was annoyed. What hotel didn't have staff overnight? It was a hotel. The majority of their business happens between 7PM and 11AM, when they are supposedly closed! I inquired if there was anything to be done, or if I was out a room for the evening, and she said I'd lost my room and that was that. I asked if a manager would be in the next day and the woman said she was the manager. Having worked in customer service for over 10 years, I asked why she didn't attempt to contact me when the card was declined, to maybe sort out the error, instead of cancelling my reservation. Apparently, that was the wrong thing to ask, because she started yelling "YOU KNEW THE CARD WAS DECLINED! I DON'T HAVE ANY OBLIGATION TO CALL YOU! THE EMAIL SAYS THE CARD WAS DECLINED! YOU HAVE A NICE NIGHT!" and then she hung up. Note: The email cancellation does not include any reason for the cancellation, so ... that was a lie. So ... now I'm left with no room, and a horrible customer service experience. I called corporate, and they confirmed I was out a room, because they can only run credit cards before 7PM. The corporate representative also stated that some branches record calls, and others don't (because I asked if she could pull the audio of the manager yelling at me). She said that she would open a customer relations case with the branch, but then it was up to them to resolve it, so I have no reasonable expectation that anything will come of it. Certainly the last time I book with RedRoof.

Booked room for 4 days for my son and family! They called me to say the room was dirty and gross! Chips on the bed, cigarette ashes on the floor, long hairs all over the bed, floors dirty and a white powdery substance on top of the fridge. I guess you get what you pay for..needless to say I cancelled the room losing money for the first night, however they have a small baby and could not allow them to stay in those conditions..was able to book a hotel at candlewood suites. Too bad I can’t upload pics.

Literally, the only good thing was the price. The room was dirty with markings on the walls, there was no towel or washcloth- I had to purchase sets from the Family Dollar up the street. My trash was not emptied from Monday- Thursday. I have actual video footage of roaches in the restroom. I went to the front desk and told them something was biting me and showed them the 4 bite marks on my neck and along my upper chest since I was wearing a tank top and asked if they could move me to another room and was told no without even checking. The girl with multi colored hair came and looked and said to call 0 if it continued...the phone wasn't even working. They sent a guy with dreads in to spray the room. I saw the lady the next day and she asked if it was better and I told her no. She said she would notify management. I think a refund or discount is needed for what I experienced in room 130 because that wasn't worth the couple hundred dollars I spent.

Questions & Answers

My wife has a reservation from Saturday (11/4/2017) to Sunday (11/5/2017). The front desk appears to be closed. How is she expected to checkout ????

Very bizarre there, had same experience, just left, guess it's automatic, had no follow on problem doing it. Horrible place, dirty, no customer service

How much would a week or maybe a month cost? Which is less suites or studios?
