My husband and I are visiting Washington DC and our friend recommended that we come to Swahili Village. He said it was the “best African food he’s ever had.” He’s from Nigeria so we took his recommendation very seriously. The server Victoria (Togoe) was warm, friendly and courteous. The food was some of the best we’ve had EVER. If you are in the Washington DC area. This place is a must.

This place was excellent and authentic. Every dish was delicious, the staff could not have been nicer, and the presentation was superb. Everything we ate, from the beef stew to the Ugali, was rich in flavor and felt as if I were eating at a restaurant in heart of Africa. Highly recommended for anyone looking for really good and genuine African cuisine.

Let me start by saying EVERYTHING Tasted amazing. The Service was great, i believe the owner or one of the owners was the individual that came past the table asking us about our experience. It also seems friday is the day to come because they have a DJ and the music is set to an enjoyable level where you can still converse with your party but jam along.

Wow,...this is authentic African food. The platter is amazing. The pepper sauce complements that meats perfectly...omg..it's just right. This was a great experience. The service was excellent. You do need to show your vaccination card to get in. The in house DJ provided all the top African hits to complement the vibe there. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have an awesome place to eat. Look for the Caroline the waiter when u arrive .
