I called Longview Eye & Vision to request my prescription, since I had just recently had an eye exam and purchased lenses through them. The person who answered told me that they could not send me my prescription, because it needed to be signed by my doctor, who won’t be back until next week. So I hung up, quickly looked up HIPPA standards, and of course there are none, so I called right back and said, hey I want my prescription, I need it now, not when the doctor returns, to which a different front desk person explained that the prescription needed the doctor’s signature. I immediately asked why that wasn’t done at my eye exam, and she quickly responded she would get a doctor to sign it and I would be able to come get it. Now mind you, my previous eye doctor’s office happily, and very efficiently emailed me a copy of my prescription, but no…it can ONLY be faxed, put in the mail, or I can come get it (hour round trip, mind you). LIKE HELLO, IS NO ONE CAPABLE OF USING EMAIL?! This is just such nonsense. First off, the person who answered my original call is just plain lazy. I mean seriously, you have to wait until the doctor who saw me comes back and gets around to signing my prescription, dated 04/29/2022 before I can have MY prescription? I mean, my insurance, plus my CC payment wasn’t enough for the doctor to do his due diligence and complete my exam by lending his John Hancock to the bottom of my prescription? Or is it just that she was so lazy, she couldn’t be bothered to grab a signature from another doctor. Whatever the case, it’s utterly unacceptable. I’ll never go back. So yah, if you want needless hassle just to get YOUR prescription results, this might be the place for you. 👎

If I could give no stars, I would. Got glasses here in April. They wouldn’t take my insurance and by June the frame came apart. My husband fixed it. 2 months later (today) came apart again. Looking closer, the frame is cheap plastic. $500+ I paid for these and trying to get a refund is near impossible. Should’ve gone to Sears optical in Vancouver I just thought I’d try a place closer. Expensive Mistake.

I am brand new to the eye glass world. Everytime I've come into longview eye and vision, the staff has been over the top helpful. I came in today to ask about a missing nose pad, and left with 2 new pads and a frame adjustment. All in less than 15 minutes! Super happy with the service and professionalism here.

They have fixed my bent glasses frames 3 times all walk in never any appointment or charge.I wasn't sure about a color of a frame so they just ordered the frames for me to look at before buying. It was really fast they are great from the eye exam to to picking up the final product.

You do need to schedule an appointment.

Do you use an autorefractor?

The Autorefractor is 1 of 6 tests that are done at an exam. The RX is done by the doctor and not the Autorefractor.
