The hotel was getting a much needed update. The room we stayed in was very nice and updated beautifully. Check in was quick and got to our rooms without a wait. It was close to the Plaza and the downtown jazz club we love was only 15 minutes away. Overall, a great stay.

I didn't stay here I only visit a friend who was staying here the rooms have recently been updated but still have some to be desired.

There were roaches in our room. The bed had stains on it and cigarette burns. The AC took forever to kick in. Shower is small. Room was hot. I have to spray the whole room with disinfectant due to covid and wipe the counters with disinfectant wipes as well. The staff were very friendly tho. That's the only plus side of this place. Other than that not the worth of 98 dollars a night.

We were shown a demo room that smelled just fine, then put into a room that had clearly been a smoking room in the past. The room smelled like very strong cleaning product or air freshener, with a hint of smoke. If there was any doubt about the ex-smoking status of the room, the smoke detector was covered with a bag. A lot of the appliances were unplugged when we got there (I can't blame them for the fridge, but we're talking lamps and the TV). The siding of the rug was had come off the wall, exposing the tiny nails used to hold it on. The shower floor was dirty. The shower was difficult to adjust the temperature to where it was not scalding or cold, and once I had the temperature adjusted it kept changing. Outside of the rooms were dark, cold, and strange smelling (not smoke, just some other abnormal smell). The breakfast existed, and was free, but that's most of what I can say for it. Bagels, muffins, cereal, frozen waffles. At this point I didn't exactly trust the sanitation of the food, so we had breakfast somewhere else. These things could have been worth it, if the total price was cut in half.
