At 70+ years, I have moved across country five times - and I have never had anyone load my belongings into a trailer with the commitment to making everything work in the best possible way as happened with Chris of Sound Movers, assisted by Cody. Not only was his work done conscientiously and with intelligence and skill, I also felt confident that Chris was a person of integrity who was straight with me. Moving across country is one of the most stressful things you can do - and the quality of the companies and the people you work with makes all the difference. Sound Moving, with Darren up front, and Chris and Cody, made ALL the difference!!!

I want to give Sound Moving & Storage five stars because they went out of their way to help me move. However, I had previously discussed with Darren, on two different occasions, that we were only going to be charged their hourly rate for two movers and a truck, with no additional fees, which Darren confirmed was correct. On the day of the move, I see three guys show up, who were all super helpful. Darren and I never discussed having three guys, so I figured the third guy would be included in the standard two men rate. However, this was not the case. Once the bill was written up, I see that I was charged at the rate for three movers, instead of the agreed two. Frustrated, I called and talked to Darren about this. However, he refused to fix the additional charge and said there was nothing he could do. Darren, as a business, I understand you need to make money, but this is not how you do things. It’s crucial to discuss with your customers exactly what they are getting, and you cannot just throw an extra helper in with the expectations that your customer will pay the additional charge. That is not how you do business.

I used Sound Moving and Storage for my Port Townsend move in June. They did a great job - came out to look at what we had to move and where it was going to. The were prompt, courteous and efficient. They moved our upright piano without a problem. I would use Sound Moving again.

The two guys with the truck didn’t work together. By late afternoon, they were exhausted and asked if we minded if two others helped finish unloading. Saying OK doubled our cost. We were expected to sign off on damage on the spot (found 2 problems later). Might as well rent a truck and hire guys off the street.
