It was a great experience. Ladies there were kind to me, thoughtful of pets and showed lots of caring. I love my cat, he's still in transition so he's a little shy. But loves to be petted. π I'll have pictures later Thank you Newberg Animal Shelter for all your help in finding a great cat.

We adopted 2 puppies. The staff was friendly and informative. It was an easy process. I recommend this place to everyone.

I absolutely fell in love here. With the staff, the kittens, the puppies...we came home with our first dog ever! She was a rescue shipped up from L.A. and now lives a cozy life as a mouser on the farm. The facility was very clean, no odors, hair anywhere. The staff are well-educated and very dedicated to their work. This is a no-kill shelter and the generosity doesn't stop there. When we adopted, they made sure we had starter food and a big, snuggly, brand-new dog bed. They have a variety of products such as collars, shampoo, food and all of the proceeds go right back into shelter.

Nice shelter with open rooms for most cats. Cats with problems stay out in kennels in the lobby so they can be watched. It was interesting that they don't allow people back in with the dogs since it upsets them so much. So they have a wall that they post the picture and details of the dogs for you to see. Once you find a dog you like they will bring it out for you to meet. Make sure if you already own a dog that you bring it along to do a "meet and greet" so you know that all parties get along. They have a small store set-up with items for sale to benefit the shelter. This was also the first shelter I've visited that has one of the "small libraries" out front to use. All in all, a nice place, privately owned, no kill shelter. Open 11 to 6 most days. Check their website or Facebook for more information.

There are a lot of other shelters who do have rabbits often. Check at Bonnie Hays Small Animal Shelter in Hillsboro.
I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a friend is always hard. I would call a vet and discuss your situation. I hate to say it but having s/he could be in pain and suffering. Just as we do when we age. I've been in your place more than I like to remember, because it still hurts always will. That's what makes them part of our family. So we should treat them as such and just do what's best for them.
Please contact the shelter for assistance for you're boxers
To volunteer in the shelter you have to be 18. They do have a youth outreach program, but that may be on hold due to covid.
They do not, there are no onsite veterinarians at the shelter. All dogs and cats are spayed/neutered before being adopted though.
Animals have vaccines, microchip, and are fixed. Prices vary based on age and adoptability of animal, range is normally from $250-600.
I agree, try asking them or ask for another "no kill" shelter.
Thank you for your inquiry. We do not have rabbits for adoption. If you go to https://www.petfinder.com/ you can find shelters near you that have rabbits for adoption.
Please contact the animal shelter they can give you the information that's needed or stop by the shelter and you can see photos of all of the dogs that are available and read up on them before you choose to see the one that you want good luck and have a wonderful summer
