We camped at campsite 7 which seemed to be the only site with no shade from 10AM-4PM BUT, each site is super private, could barely tell we had neighbors. There were quite a bit of mosquitos in the afternoon, so bring bug spray and a citronella candle. The walk to the lake is not too bad, we paddleboarded. The landings are a bit hard to navigate with day users and swimmers near by, there's a drop in point midway up the trail that is pretty good. There was a motorized boat that basically blocked the entire main landing for most of the trip which was frustrating. The campsites were super clean, we saw a lot of chipmunks, and a bear further up on one of the roads nearby. In the future we'll be going to Panorama Point and some of the north campsites that are a bit closer to the lake and have better landings.

Website states all sites first come first served. Drove up 7/22/20 after work to find that, in fact, no first come first served (you may find a site for one night only), all reserved for the remainder of the season. They have also more than doubled in price. At the very least, they should update the website with correct info and put a sign at the highway for those who are driving a long way to get there. This is not the first time I have had a problem with there website or with the reservation system. Otherwise, great campground. Feel bad for the cam host (who is over at Horseshoe Cove) who has to deal with all this chaos.

Nice campground by lake. Nice walking trails.

This particular campground (there several in the Mount Baker National Forest Park) is a bit newer, but this was our SECOND trip in just two weeks to camp & kayak .The first time was so fun that we packed up and did it again. The host was extremely helpful & the park is clean, no problems with rodent infestation, just cute little critters brought to you by Mother Nature. Take note though, you need to put all food away at night to keep the critters away.
