High Voltage is even MORE amazing now! I was surprised to discover an expanded store! It has doubled in size and looks great! I hadn't been in for a while, but I had to stop in on Record Store Day today for Prince's Gold Experience vinyl, and I'm so glad I did! This place has a lot to offer. Staff is always great. If you love digging through the stacks for new and used music, this is the best Tacoma has to offer! Get here and get your music on! The also have a nice selection of books now too! Highly recommended! Prince 4Ever 0(+>💜🤘☮

It was a nice experience!! 😎🤗 As soon as my Daughter got finished with her chemo treatment at TG...my husband and I took here to look around at Hi-Voltage Records...She found a tee shirt and some music for herself to get her mind off of things.🎶 I ended up buying about 7 CDs for myself... We really enjoyed it there😎🎶🤗 We will definitely go back again!🤗

I am updating my review. In my initial interaction I reacted to being rubbed the wrong way after a simple miscommunication. The snarky response to my review should give you an idea of what I was dealing with. Customers can be jerks sometimes. That day i was a jerk to the person that was jerky to me, instead of being the bigger person🤔. Oh well.Since then I avoid much convo, look online before I enter the store and just avoid the rewards card. Visiting other record stores in the area helped too. This place is alright, just keep your options open though. Turntable treasures, jankuland and Atomic Genius have amazing people, records, and have Def helped me not only regain my interest in vinyl, but will geek out with you or teach you things like helping discover new music and offering tips on how to care for your record player. One place even GAVE me a record they thought I'd like, calls me when new things come in....even with smaller staff some of the other stores take your experience a step further than this one.

Super cool store. Loved it all! Wish I could've spent more because they have such a cool selection of books and records!

Can confirm they were set up with signage and limits on people in the store. Everyone was wearing a mask. Sanitizer by the store for your hands. Love to see it done right!
It never hurts to go talk to somebody. Obviously they are in business to make a profit but if it works for you, then who cares what anybody else thinks. I went there for the first time on Friday and they were helpful, prices were reasonable, and they had a great stock/selection.
We do! You can feel free to bring them by anytime and we can take a look at them.
I don't think Hi Voltage does turntable repairs. I would call Hawthorne stereo in Seattle and see who they recommend to call if they can't help you. Otherwise maybe ask at Turntable Treasures or Gig Harbor Audio?
Prices range based on quality, but for the better records I've gotten 10-20. They seem for compared to other places.
Yes, they buy used records but only if they like it. House of records across the street buys more.
