Great spot to go clam digging. Had a lot of fun here. Definitely will be back in the future.

I've been going here for years. I miss that the building is open. Used to go in and buy crab bait and chat with Dan. And I can't forget Pilot his huge dog who would go for a swim and then come and shake off on us while we were 🦀. Clamming and crabbing are always fun here.

Great place to crab off a dock. Unfortunately during the time we went (early January) we caught no viable crabs during 4 hours of our traps being out. We're a little late in the season but want to mention that.

Normally, we go to Newport pier though it's farther than this Garibaldi as we seem to have better luck there. This day, we were happily surprised to catch 2 keepers at a place better known for claming... All good.

Of course! Just check your tide tables! Minus tides are the best!
Crab pots or traps are not very expensive. However, many places on the coast rent them and they will even cook the crab for you. If you are crabbing from the shore or a dock on the Oregon coast, a small managable trap called a crab max is available from Netarts RV resort on Netarts bay. You can cook the crabs in a small pot over a colmen stove or a small propane burner. These traps catch a lot of crabs. I have catch as many as ten crabs in one trap. pots are more expensive and are heavy. Nehalem bay has several places the rent pots and cook your crab. We have been doing is so long that we have our own traps and pots and cook our own crab. We have a camp chef single burner with a large pot tocook the crab. works great. This is a good year for crab at the coast. Dont waste your time at the Garaboldi pier.
They are for sale at the local fish market currently. Kind of expensive.I am not sure for what months. I assume year round
On a sign at the pier entrance, it says the dock is open 5AM to 10PM. However, I've seen people on the dock crabbing until later.
Of course.....it's open year round
No, it's a very narrow pier and a wheelchair would be too wide.
Posted no but people do
