When making the reservation I told them that we needed recliner chair as my wife has back problems and can't lay flat on a bed. I was assured that the room would have a recliner. When we arrived at the hotel I was told that the room does not have a recliner. They did assure me they would cancel and not charge me. After some discussion we were put in a double double at the same price. Not knowing at the time I made the reservation that I was talking to a company "Getaroom" and they were the ones that promised me that we would have a recliner. Next time I make a reservation I will make sure it's not "Getaroom" that I am talking to. Never again!!!

We stayed at Candlewood Suites Aberdeen-Edgewood-Bel Air for for 11 days although we had a reservation for 41 days and the first day we checked in they tried to charge us $3,400 in advance for the entirety of our stay. When we checked in there was a smell in the hallway and my husband politely asked the GM if he could switch us to another room because of the smell and they told us they were completely sold out mind you we did the reservation 2-3 weeks prior, Pillow cases were “used”, one had pee stain from a pet and some fur on the same pillow case. My kids were with us including my newborn which made us so mad I don’t believe they are cleaning the rooms between guests. When I pull the sheets there was hair in the sheets and the pillow cases which were not changed in the first place. The bed sheets also smelled like used, Gina took care of us and gave us clean sheets and pillowcases. I also requested extra pillows when I did my reservation and that was not accommodated, we found dog food on the carpet and under the beds. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher as well, some food on the fridge seems like housekeeping didn’t even bothered to clean this room how they were supposed to. Being a Platinum Elite member you would expect a lot more cleanliness from an IHG hotel. The property overall was undergoing a renovation apparently but it just looked cheap. Hotel had a musky Moldy odor in the lobby and hallways. The furniture at the lobby was also stained. Although they had a Non- Smoking policy the floor we were staying smelled like marijuana everyday. The hot water kept shutting off and we had to keep calling the front desk. Our AC broke and they did sent someone to fix it and they ended up replacing it couple of days later.

Problem after problem after problem. We reserved a wheelchair accessible room, but they had us in a regular room. They told us "That's what you reserved" and that they didn't have an accessible room available. I showed them the email from IHG showing we reserved a wheelchair accessible room. Then they blamed Priceline, a website that I've never used. Eventually they "found" an accessible room. There was a rag on the floor in the room, which I brought to them when I went down to the front desk to ask why (according to my freshly received email) they charged me almost double what they were supposed to. Their first response when I pointed this out? "No." Seriously? So they eventually admit they did over charge me and corrected it. Get back to the room, and the dishwasher has "clean" dishes which included dirty glasses and the TV remote is the filthiest I've ever seen. There was no shampoo, just two Shower Gels. The coffeemaker also didn't work right without holding the pot at an angle while it brewed. I love the idea of Candlewood Suites, but my wife and I have decided we can never go to one again.

We stayed for two days to have alone time together, and down time away from home. The room is very spacious. The king size bed is comfortable. The dish washer made things easy. Shampoo, conditioner, & body wash is included. Also, dish soap, paper towels, Kleenex, of course toilet paper, towels, dish towels, wash clothes, and hand towels. A refrigerator, hot plates to cook on, dishes, pots & pans. Candlewood definitely felt like home away from home. Plus, free laundry which I thought was awesome. They also offer a wide selection of DVDs. All staff were kind, polite, made us feel welcome, and made sure we were comfortable. The room was clean. And smelled good. I have no bad complaints about my stay at candlewood.
