It's was our first time on the ferry, and it was a real nice 15-20 ride to Whidbey Is.. It was about nine dollars for our vehicle, three adults and two children!!! Pretty cheap!! The view was incredible from the observation deck, I saw a Grey whale before we even left the dock! Everything went smooth, the boat barely rocked once or twice!

How fun! Also the ride is about 10-15 minutes so it's not too crazy. The wait isn't bad either and the staff are awesome!

Bought our tickets online we're able to get in line 1 or 2 which got us up on the deck where you could park along the rail and watch outside it was just awesome

Normal schedule is every 30 min on the hour. Although lately with short staff and COVID there has just been one boat running so every hour. It's looking good though the the issue is working it's way out and back to normal
No reservations are necessary, but keep in mind when you are traveling. Also check out the wsdot app or webpage and check out the cameras and wait times. If the wait time is more than 90 minutes, just drive around, people forget that their is a bridge on the north end of island and its a very scenic drive. Plus perfect time for road snacks and adventure.(just my 2cents)
I am not sure but I think you pick them up at the Two story building. I have only been through there twice and am still finding my way.
