MANY HOMELESS CAME HERE AND TRIED TO GET SOBER. They joined this program or they joined union gospel , salvation army .and they hoped to get sober find a job an apartment and find some happiness . That wasn't found here they used the homeless as free labor n forced them to learn the bible when they weren't working. If u wherent christian enough u got kicked out I seen hundreds get kicked out back in to homelessness not for useing drugs or being destructive no just for not learning bible verse quick enough I got kicked out because I didn't get my GED quick enough .I didn't need or want my GED but they decided I needed it n if I didn't get it I had to go n I had no where to go like most people just circulated back in to homelessness. Many of the homeless u see sleeping on the streets came to these places for help n they did the bare minimum just to get your donations . These places are EVIL THESE STOLE HOPE FROM SO MANY PEOPLE . Ask people on the street who tried n see the truth

It's a shame they don't have more staff who are genuinely caring, considerate and who follow the example that Jesus set by his actions. Some are truly kind, others are dishonest, self-centered and give the mission a bad reputation.

I was suprised to find how helpful the mission is here! The facility is remodeled, nice, and modern. The staff is non invasive and willing to help a disabled person. I couldn't find my truck, they let me in and let me use the restroom and gave perfect directions. Mike B at the front desk is pretty cool and laid back. Portland is lucky to have this place. I am volunteering to serve food tomorrow.

It was really upsetting to come over to this place all this way and spent every d oh and if there isn't enough stuff for families and couples without leaving everybody else out you know it seems like families and couples and all that stuff are really seems like nowadays people that are getting taken care of really don't need to be taken care of cuz they can do their own thing starting to get too too greedyime I had only to still be on the streets with my service dog I think that was really lame

How can I get an inn in this mission while I get an income?

Big question The first thing is to have a T.B. card? If not, get tested in TPI. Testing Monday and Thursday 1: 15-3: 15, then we enter and we can arrive. A bedroom bed or a shelter can inside the chapel.

Me and my brother are homeless how does the shelter help.

Lisa Stutsman | Aug 16, 2019
Brian Paul Stanley | Aug 16, 2019

The shelter can provide food at 7 am and 6pm it also has a program for women for sleeping over nights and has a mens shelter for women you'll want to look into women's connect by contacting a staff member on shift who can her you set up for shelter over night but men and women sleep in separate areas also it offers toiletries and showers
