I have stayed a Marriott hotels many times and this was my first disappointing stay. My husband and I got a room with the hot tub. We choose not to stay Saturday night because it was $425. We decided to do a Sunday because it was only $119, with my government discount. And I must sadly say there is no way this room was worth $425! We had a view of the 2nd floor roof with air-conditioning units and plaster falling off the building. Our ceiling was coming apart probably from the tub above us leaking. Room was large and decently clean. But from someone who travels alot...if you're asking that kind of money for a room the upkeep better show. With the International winter games coming in January they'd better start fixing up the place, because what a disgrace to the Marriott brand.

Positive: Hotel staff was very friendly - although they were short-staffed so some of the hotel amenities were limited (like the cafe). Front-desk and breakfast crew was very friendly and accommodating. Negative: We had no heat in our first room and there were wires hanging from the heating/ac unit. They moved us to another room that was fine. Not a 3.5-star quality room though. They used an air freshener that made the room feel old and stale and way too smelly.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary in Lake Placid with our 2 young kiddos. We had a wonderful stay at the Courtyard Marriot! The room was clean and welcoming. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool and the location was great as it wasn't too far from main street and was close to lots of great restaurants, Olympic attractions, and hikes. The shuttle to town was a huge bonus as we never had to pay for parking! Loved our stay and would stay here again in a heartbeat.
