I can not even begin to describe how HORRIBLE this place is. I had been waiting on my wedding invitations to come in the mail which were suppose to be here on a Monday and it had made it all the way to Thursday and no package. On my tracking it said it had never left the station so I go up there thinking that I will just be able to pick it up although I do not understand what the hold up was. Long story short I get to the station and I was told by the manager and staff that my package was forwarded randomly to no one knows where because I had not moved in two years neither had I put in a change of address. Needless to say I still do not have my invitations and the MANAGER of the station could not give me an answer as to where my stuff was neither could the carrier. They had no record what so ever. WORST customer service experience I have ever encountered they did not care and almost tried to blame it on me. To bad nothing will be done about it but just be WARNED about this station. Avoid at all cost

Great service and Jennifer is the BEST! People always go into post offices ready to wait in long lines, etc., but the Des Moines PO was quick and treated me very well! Also, when doing a passport application I was surprised at how cheerful and professional they were. Jennifer (Clerk No. 29) is really friendly and professional - I wish all PO workers were as outgoing and cheerful as she is. She worked hard to help not only myself but others around me. It was a really refreshing experience! I think if other PO had a team like this, more people would leave the PO with a happy and satisfying experience. Nice job Des Moines and Jennifer!!

I ship 15 to 20 packages a week usually at other locations but today this location was convenient. At every other location I've visited I've taken my postage paid parcel and set it on an empty place at one end of the counter. As i approached the counter to do so the clerk was in a prolonged conversation about her uniform with a customer, i politely said excuse me and left my package, as I left however the clerk yelled after me and made a huge show of telling me I needed to place my package elsewhere next time. I'm fine putting the box wherever but would rather not be spoken to like a child when asked to do so.

I've had a PO Box at this post office for years and the counter clerks and managers have always been friendly and helpful. My parcels have always arrived in good condition and they have been careful with them. They are busy sometimes and there can be a short wait for a clerk. The employees do a good job from what I've observed.

I am sorry about your lost letter . But i suggest you go into the Des Moines post office. Just incase they caught the letter before it was dispatched and is holding the letter at the post office . Good luck and again sorry
It depends on what time you drop the mail off, but normally 2 full days. All mail from the Post Office stations are picked up around 6pm & transport to the main Processing/Sorting facility Seattle P& DC by semi-trucks. Seattle Processing & Distribution Center is a 24-hours sorting operation, so your Bellevue mail sorted by zip code should be out of the sorting facility by next day & mail truck deliver to Des Moines station. Your mail carrier delivers on 3rd day. Hopefully, no weekends or holiday in between those processing time.
This is the wrong place for you to post the question you just did. You need to mark or write on the package to the mail person about wrong address delivered or take the package to the post office. Google Map has no connection to the mail service
Either lock your box or have them keep it at the post office.
