Forced one star review…. Awful management and can’t seem to manage reservations or walkins. Restaurant 101. Great patio next to a cemetery…. Get organized. Skip it!

First time: Impressions; Nicely set up and decorated. But as one other reviewer said don’t bother coming if noise, chatter. etc bother you. This is not a quiet venue for a romantic dinner. While i liked the layout and decorating it isn’t conducive to softening sounds. No carpets, drapes, etc. to help. We had a 5:45 reservation and it was about half full inside, by the time we finished (weren’t rushed at all), it was full and noise level went up quite a bit. The chatter level along with overhead background music just didn’t work for me. When you make your reservation you can pick; outside, high top ( bar area) or table in dining area. I thought it might be a little chilly for outside (turned it wasn’t and no noise, live and learn). So i picked inside. We got a small table for 2 by the fireplace. There was no flame but there was heat blowing out. Strange on a 63 degree night. I asked if we could move and we were accommodated. On to the menu. It was also weird that they were still serving their “Summer Drink & Dining menus. Our waitresses informed us they would be changing to the “Fall” schedule in a week or so. The Mrs ordered her 1 usual Cosmo. She said it was just ok. She also ordered the Boilagsnae. She said it was excellent. I order a pork chop. While it was very tender it was extremely salty. I often order pork. hops and it was not only the saltiest I’ve ever had (i’m 70 years old so i’ve had a few), it was the salties food i’ve ever eaten in any restaurant in the world. Sometimes i think things are spicy or hot but my family members don’t and laugh at me. But the Mrs tried a bite and agreed 100%. Therefore i was disappointed. We finished off with lava cake and a cappuccino. Cake was good but not outstanding. The cappuccino was very good. Overall we did like the venue despite the noise. We will try again, maybe for lunch while it might not be as noisy. There were plenty of other options on the menu so i will try something different next time. I might have given 3.5 stars if an option but rounded up to 4 because we did like enough to come back and try again.

This place was DELICIOUS! Went for a work gathering so I can't speak to pricing but the food was amazing, service attentive, drinks good too! 10/10 It wasn't super busy when we went but it was an early dinner on a Thursday, not the weekend. I could see it filling up quickly.

Great place. Service is fantastic. I had the meatball sliders which were phenomenal. Love this place and looking forward to the next visit.

Cheever Tavern operates in full compliance with Massachusetts DPH regulations which include, but are not limited to, current capacity restrictions, 90-minute time limit, six-foot spacing between tables, masks required of all employees and guests while not seated with their party, and curbside delivery of takeout orders when requested.
Cheever Tavern is named for Pulitzer Prize-winning author John Cheever who is buried a few feet from our front entrance in the First Norwell Parish Unitarian cemetery.
I would suggest this is not the correct forum for this question. Look them up on FB and enquire through there. It is hit or miss as to whether any company will watch this area for comments on their business, less so for comments about people looking for jobs. I'd be happy to be wrong on that.
