I have been calling, this office, waiting on the phone for 45 minutes only to be hung up on. calling again today, i'm on hold for 25 minutes already, get switched to a dead connection. No one is answering, i'm not surprised at the low rating. Last year i had to do the math for the employee to figure out what time/age would be best for me to take my payments over longterm, when i asked him if he could calculate it, he could not figure it out.

The Mt. Vernon office gives fast and friendly, efficient service. Maggie is an exceptionally fine employee. She takes the time to listen and address concerns and calls back in a timely manner. I have had no long phone waits or call back times with the Mt. Vernon office. Very different than the service in the Bellingham office, sad to say. When you call that number sometimes there is no option to hold, the phone just rings busy. You may end up on hold for 2 hours and then someone may pick up but if they think its too close to lunch or quitting time, will hang up on you.

Waited for 25 mins for a rude man to ignore my questions. I told him we were changing last name after marriage. Said, "y'all waited for 2 years (as offices were closed) you can wait for longer." I do not feel safe sending original and only documents through the mail. They wouldn't even take certified copies of marriage license that the county gave us.

Yes! 9am to 4pm Monday thru Friday.
Yes!
Gotta just keep trying. It took me forever to get through, then the lady was very, very, very rude to talk to. She ended up hanging up on me. Luckily I got through again, and to a very helpful person.
Yes on line
Both. US Mail too.
Yes you can just go into the office
Yeah you just go on the website
No
I believe it's 65 .
I am going thru the same process to get medicare b in force, i got a form ftom social security to have your employers insurance representive fill out dhowing your end dates of hours covered by their ins. I was into social security yestetday with the form snd the rep. Didn,t look at it properlly, so i have to go back on to show jim whete he was wrong, have good day, it is a time consuming process trying yo get thru all the procedures
This is absolutely a scam Social Security and Medicare will never call you out of the blue, they will always send you a letter first.
Time is dependent upon how expedient you are with any correspondence from them. Best thing to do is to go into your local office and they can more or less layout your game plan for your relocation.
Yes. Va only covers if injured in combat. Found that after thousands of dollars of medical after broken hip.
What do I need to bring with me to change my name?
Yes. You can go into your local office or call the SSA to find out what the wage limits are.
You don't need an appointment to begin the process. You can just walk into the local service office, apply online, or call them. If you want to go in, it's best to be there when they open their doors at 9am.
It is confusing to get to but Using the website. Sign up for your my social security account. Then if you aren't ready to start your social security benefit and only want Medicare-you start at applying for social security after first page it asks if you just want Medicare only
I've not had that problem. I just get my number and wait. Afternoon isnt as busy. Maybe you can ask for a supervisor so you can find why they feel that way
Nothing. Just call the 1-800 number and make the change.
There is but its hard to get, but if you explain to the operater, if you call that 800 number, they can look up, an give you the office number you need. I had mount vernons office number. A while back. I should of saved it. But yes their is a different number to call in that office
You can sign into my social security on the website and then find it. It depends on your earnings.
If a caseworker sends you a letter saying an appointment has been scheduled for you...keep it. Otherwise, it is unfortunately, FCFS.
Contact the Health Department Division of Vital Records where he was born. They will have his birth certificate on file. Get a certified copy. Also the papers from the court that appointed custody to you will have some needed information.
It depends on the program you are applying for...
Hey, this isn't the social security administration's website or anything, it's to help people learn about the place. I advise going down there in person as they never return calls
You can apply easily online. You have to start at the apply for social security but then it gives you option for just medicare if you want.
You can get one on their website if you set up an account or go into their office and request one.
Some offices still offer a prompt to dial an extension, but 95% no longer do. The system refers to the main SSA 800 number, which is also the number on most letters from a caseworker. It's terribly inconvenient and frustrating.
You can try calling the office, or if that fails, go in.
The SSA is a stickler about name changes...make sure you bring with you not only the final divorce decree (the original with the judges' signature), but all of the other documents they demand - even if you've brought them in before.
It depends on your monthly benefit amount.
Yes!
You need to go into the office with your state license or ID card and a second proof of identity - like a birth certificate, military ID, passport, etc.
