My experience with Hertz was super disappointing! The first thing is they didn't evaluate the car which lead to them not seeing the small crack that spread while I had it and of course that comes out my pocket. The gas level on the slip was surely not the gas level it was on but I didn't complain. The car was very dirty outside and inside still had trash from last customer. When I dropped my car on 7/8 they acted as if they didn't know until I called. The person put me on hold and never came back or called. I had to reach back out! Then I see a extra $300 almost $400 charge and I was clueless. No one reached out to me about it. I had to call again. Come to find out they charged me for like 4 more days!! Of course the ticket, from the garage when I dropped it off, was missing from my file. The employees are crooks! I believe the employees are using the cars and putting the charge on the customers! Luckily i was able to speak with the manager, who seems to be the only honest and respectable person in the office. She agreed to refund for the days i didn't have the rental. Im thankful for that but also it could be a month and a half for my reimbursement! Whatever you do, Do NOT go to Hertz and especially not this one!

I rented a car for a few hours on Monday & returned it on Monday (after hours, so they received it Tuesday). I was told that there MAY be a $200 hold placed on my debit card until I returned the rental. There wasn't. There was a $500 hold placed on it. By Wednesday, the hold hadn't dropped so I called in. It took me 8 tries for someone to actually answer the phone & said she'd call me back. After 3 hours of waiting, I called her back. She couldn't explain the $500 vs. $200 hold. I learned that the vehicle return hadn't been closed out, which is why the hold was still there. She said she would close it out momentarily and that I would receive an email right away. It finally closed out Thursday morning and the hold was released from my bank during the night Thursday. There was no vehicle walkaround (to make note of the damages which were already present) and it hadn't been vacuumed. The maintenance light was on and wasn't told of this. I called into the location before leaving and was told that the vehicle thought it needed an oil change, but it hadn't been 10,000 miles yet. Also, the receipt had me going 3X miles. I drove nearly 200 miles. This location just seems all-around incompetent. I do NOT intend to use it again.

I had another great experience with Hertz! Fortunately, for me, anytime I have had to do business with this company, it has been through my insurance company State Farm. I understand from some of the staff there, though, that people often times have problems getting vehicles with them because they wait until the last minute; they make the reservation the day of online and expect to go downtown to get the vehicle, only to later find that the vehicle is not there; and a myriad of other problems. I'm quite surprised to see them have such a low rating! But, after hearing some of the explanations regarding the complaints of the customers, I can see why they have less than three stars. For my purposes, I'm giving them 5 stars because Tim, who's actually a new associate there, was extremely helpful to me! I was placed in a gorgeous 2019 Jeep SUV. It was jet black, with black leather interior, and a full Sirius XM radio Suite! My experiences with Hertz have always been positive. My only gripe is that the guy who made the reservation over the phone was not very pleasant. It's precisely the reason why I was glad that when I arrived there the day to pick up my vehicle, that guy had already left and Tim assisted me with getting the vehicle. Also, I had a very positive experience with my pick up! A very nice older women drove to my home and picked me up, and drove me all the way downtown to retrieve my vehicle. All in all, I find Hertz to be an excellent company! I think the difference is that I've always gone through my insurance company. Most of the people who have ever had problems with them did personal rentals. Maybe I might sing a different tune in the future if I have to do a personal rental with the company. Although, I was forewarned that it is best for me to reserve as far in advance as possible to ensure I have a vehicle. And I was also told that it would behoove me to call in advance to ensure that they have inventory available! So, take this review in stride, and follow the instructions given to me to make sure you don't have any problems in the future.

The staff here was fantastic! They went above and beyond when it came to accommodating our family of six even letting us leave our rental in the parking garage until we needed it early the next morning. It is a little hard to find as it is located down the escalator below street level but the search is worth it!
