Robyn the receptionist was extremely hospitable, giving us coupons and maps with attractions around the area. Wonderful person. Rooms are nice and clean with comfortable beds and solid bathrooms. Would recommend!

It was an ok stay. Overall the hotel is clean. The breakfast looked good but I didn't eat it. The downside is the nonsmoking floor smelled like weed. The toilet in my room had some kind of slow leak and would make a filling noise every 30 minutes. The heater in the room didn't seem to shutoff when the room started to get warm. And the bed was really soft, so much so it felt like I was sleeping in a hole. For the money all things that aren't the end of the world.

If I could give a negative or no star I would. Place was not cleaned. There was still trash on the floor and in trash cans in the rooms they gave me. Floors were filthy. I advise to keep shoes on always. Sheets looked clean but never were. Found a couple stains and hair in them. It's a no smoking hotel but yet people kept smoking weed in the rooms which you can smell in your room and in the halls. Management ( the guys who worked there ) were not the friendliest. Only 1 guy knew and understood English. The remote controls were disgusting and had stains and God knows what on them. All in all I would never ever recommend this hotel to anyone. Especially when they charge about $80 a night. Honestly who would pay that to stay in a dirty disgusting room?

It is very affordable and if you're on the road, this is a perfect spot to rest at. Now, that being said, there were good and bad. The Good: The staff were extremely blunt and honest and were great at correcting technical mistakes related to customer service and online booking website related matters. They were very honest and timely about what they do, and are willing to assist. The place is clean, remarkably so, and the decor is not that bad. I'd highly recommend this place as a pet stop, seriously. Compared to the others on hotel row in Springfield this was THE most affordable for what you get. It is a safe environment and you don't have to worry about crazies or some nonsense happening. The location is excellent, and the parking area is well kept and very easy to navigate. The beds and pillows were unbelievably comfortable and well kept. The Bad: The air was dry, causing my girlfriend to have some throat scratching when she woke up the next morning. I also had that along with a dry nose. So a humidifier, or something could really help that. The hallways were super loud. Although the rooms themselves are very quiet, every time somebody left their room, talked, walked, anything, it was like they were right next to the door. The elevators are good, but their response time was a tad off. The Coffee machines and the breakfast area need to be refilled and restocked more often. Twice the machines were empty of juice and coffee, and twice it was near bare bones with regards to food down there. If that could happen scratch that problem off because it's freeand for what they offer its excellent. Just refill and restock more often. All in all, I recommend Microtel in Springfield Illinois.
