Location is the reason I had this place booked. Front desk staffs were nice, but on second day morning the lady working the breakfast counter yelled at my daughter for getting breakfast for the family. She was extremely rude, I complained the front office and manager was supposed to get back to me, never did. Zero accountability, I did not get an apology for that behavior. I'm a lifelong Marriott member, this experience soured our experience.

Positive: Location. Negative: Should have warned us about the traffic closures on Saturday afternoon. This made getting to the hotel much more difficult than it should have been.

I booked a suite a week in advance for a mother- daughter evening on the town for dinner and a show at the Blumenthal, but when we arrived at 4:50pm to check in, they told me they were overbooked and tried to send us to a Courtyard in the AIRPORT area…. We had just enough time to get to dinner and the show, and we planned on walking everywhere. For the front desk associate and the GM to try and send us 20 min away by car to a downgraded hotel with bad reviews- totally unacceptable. After telling them we could not go to the airport area, they said there was NOTHING they could do uptown, even though several Marriott Bonvoy hotels were showing availability online. They ended up getting us a room 30 min away in South Charlotte and we couldn’t even get ready for our evening. We had to change in the car… No apologies from management, bad attitude, zero customer service or care for Marriott members. Our evening was completely ruined, and the place we ended up which I am writing this review from stinks and is not remotely near the city… appalled by this treatment and will seriously consider switching to Hilton next time. P.S.- The reply below is not accurate. No one apologized and they took way too long to try and “resolve” the issue. The female associate had the worst attitude I’ve ever seen at a Marriott. I could get better service at McDonalds. Also, the only “requirement” I had is that my daughter and I have two beds! They could have put us at the JW, Westin, Grand Bohemian, or others uptown and actually allowed my daughter and I to have a nice evening as planned. That would have garnered a 5-star review. However, since the GM was too cheap to make that happen then no one wins.

From the moment we arrived, our experience at this hotel was top-notch in every way. Our room was ready early as requested. Super clean and very comfortable. Had all the amenities we needed. The location cannot be beat! The staff at front desk and dining room are excellent and met all our needs very quickly. Covid safety precautions are in place and we felt very safe staying here. Parking fee is reasonable for an uptown hotel. Loved the breakfast buffet. Wish they still served dinner and room service. Hoping this will return after Covid and staff shortages. We will definitely be staying here whenever we come to Charlotte.

Poor quality of service and over charge
When you reserve they hold a certain amount if it's yuor first time. And then you pay the balance at checkout
