Overall, it was a pretty good experience living at One on Centre. To start with the positives, the apartments themselves are nice. The furniture included in the room is of good quality (couches, TVs, chairs, mattress, etc.). Most importantly, there is plenty of noise isolation between rooms, so you will be able to sleep pretty well at night. The bathrooms are nice too, with plenty of storage space near/under the sink. There are ceiling fans located all throughout the apartment, and the air conditioning/heating works very well so you will never be uncomfortable. The only negative is that the lights are not super bright, so you will likely need to bring your own lamp. The biggest negative issue with One on Centre is the elevators. It's pretty frequent for one or two of them not to work. (It's rare for all 3 elevators to stop working). The management tries to fix them as soon as possible, but for some reason, the elevators kept breaking throughout the year. This meant that you might spend 10 minutes waiting for the elevator, which isn't the end of the world but is a little annoying when you've just walked 30 minutes from campus. The gym area is fairly well equipped and is worth using. For one room in a 3br/3ba apartment I paid $1060 in rent for the 2021-2022 year. Upon moving out, I was charged around $150 in cleaning fees.

I lived at One on Centre during the summer of 2021 - the location and amenities were nice, but my overall experience with them was NOT reflective of the quality they advertise. 1. During move-out, 1 of the 2 elevators was broken, leaving all students moving out at the end of the summer to share the 1 working elevator or carry out all of their belongings by hand through the 17-floor building. One on Centre was not responsive, so most residents including myself had no choice but to walk at least 8-12 flights of stairs each way with as much as we could physically carry. My roommate experienced an asthma attack during the process, and after several hours, the issue had still not been resolved. 2. The MAIN ISSUE I have with One on Centre lies in their handling of my security deposit ($1000+) refund after move-out, which is where I would advise all prospective residents to take caution!!!!! Despite being tidy/ clean, I was charged extensively for things such as a spot of hand soap residue on my bathroom countertop, dust around my bathtub drain from the Clorox cleaning wipe I used, and a dusty ceiling exhaust fan that wasn't even listed in the room inspection when I moved in (and couldn't have gotten that bad in the two months I lived there). I was also charged for three items that the previous residents left behind, including a mop and dustpan that I assumed were provided by the apartment. I am concerned about the level of cleanliness required of residents upon move-out because this indicates to me that One on Centre may not be properly cleaning the apartments themselves between residents. They will find as many ways as they can to charge you without communicating the expectations beforehand. My agreement said that I needed to make sure the apartment was "clean" upon move-out, so I interpreted this as making a genuine effort to leave it in a good condition, which I did. This is especially disappointing for a business marketed as student housing. To make matters worse, when I called the main office, I was promised a partial refund for a few of these charges because the staff member agreed that they were extreme. However, when I followed up, I was told by the same individual that this promise could not be fulfilled and was met with a rude and defensive attitude after several attempts to receive an email or call back. The building is nice, but the management is not. Throughout the process, I was made to feel that OOC cares far more about profit than the people who live there. Please think twice before choosing One on Centre. It is not at all what the pictures online make it out to be.

1. The building does not even have the money and people to install a new battery for smoke alarms in apartment. They honestly tell you to do it yourself. 2. Maintenance requests take forever. 3. Elevators never work and the building is not even actively fixing it. 4. Very bad communication in general. You need to constantly check the portal because they actually do not send emails to you about important stuff. (For example, they sent out confirmation email first, and tell you that whatever was confirmed is now cancelled 10 days later. Very well done indeed.) I am honestly ok with the first 3 problems since I've been bearing with them for the past two months already (which I should not be considering how much I've been paying for this), but the 4th one actually got me disgusted. You can actually tell that they did this on purpose just to increase your rent with no legit reason.

I’m one of the residents that had a 2 weeks early move in! I think One on centre is such a nice place to live! First, it has a very good location. CVS is just around the corner and it has bus stops nearby to send you to university or stores. It’s only 15 minutes walk to Upitt. It also has safeguards so you don’t have to worry about your safety! Second, it’s a brand new apartment. It is well furnished, rooms are spacious and we have HD television, washing machine, microwave and so on. I live 3b3b and each of us have our own bathroom and a dependent closet. I can enjoy a great view of Pittsburgh from my bedroom! Third, it has gym, swimming pool for people who like to exercise. It also has a table tennis table, snooker and golf simulation! Coffee are provided and there are computer room so that we can surf the internet and print stuff there! And all things mentioned above are totally free! People here are nice and are always willing to help, they also give out free t-shirt and some small gifts for new residents! Absolutely a 5-star!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
