Alright so we live in the desert and we literally planned this trip to Escondido, for my son whom is a huge Thomas the tank engine fan to go to the 'Totally Thomas' store located within the mall. This y'all is 2+ hour trip and that's not hitting traffic! The mall itself is quite large (3 Floors). In the center of the mall there are escalators with mirrors that make it look really trippy but super cool. There was also a Full on Target which had its own section that took up 3 Floors. I actually purchased a couple of super cute dresses from a self made dress store (heck if I can remember the name tho). Oh and the mall actually had a working train that puffed along the 2nd floor. The kids liked that. Oh and on the ground level there were motorized bikes (I guess you'd call them) disguised as different animals. This was really neat except there only seemed to be young children driving them and personally I think the motorized vehicle went to fast especially for younger kids to be driving them around. There was also a really cool comic store and the we also went to the candy store but the only cool thing there was that you could purchase just about ANY Color M&M. But I never saw an actual Food Court, 🤔 restaurants, a wetzel pretzel, smoothie & juice carts but I'm not recalling a food court. Parking was easy and we were able to get a close spot by the cheesecake factory. But the Totally Thomas store was a total let down. We were lead to believe there was An Abundance of Thomas merchandise and Yes there was Thomas Merchandise but it was focused on The Wooden Railway only. So there were about 6 bookshelf's of Thomas merchandise and over priced in My Opinion. However my son did purchase a DVD of Thomas he had never before seen as well as a VHS of Thomas he also had not seen that came with a Wooden Gold Thomas train. Overall the trip was fine, no traffic, the mall was just an ordinary mall and wasn't crowded. But the purpose of the trip ended up being a huge disappointment because we expected So Much More from the Totally Thomas store. 😕

Unfortunately like the rest of the malls all over the place it feels like a ghost town/apocalypse. I know it's just the way things are headed but it would be amazing to walk into a mall and get a since of nostalgia from the 80s & 90s. I only visit the mall once in a while now as it's so sad seeing it so empty. Online shopping is convenient but the memories of walking through the mall, shopping & meeting up with friends, grabbing a smoothie and something to eat in the food court will always be some amazing memories that our future teenagers/young adults will never get to experience sadly.

The mall was clean, spacious with a a variety of stores, but my experience as a person who uses a walker was a disaster. The elevator in the center of the mall wasn’t working and we were told it had been that way for “quite a while”. I came with a group from a retirement community to enjoy lunch. We wanted to eat at the food court with the group, so two of us headed to Target to use their elevator. A block later we found the elevator, went up to level two, walked the block back to find out the food court was on level 3. We went back to the Target elevator, went to level 3 only to find no entrance to the mall on level 3. This was a very frustrating experience. We ended up eating at a restaurant without our group.

Service dogs are allowed everywhere under federal law... See 28 CFR 35.136 - Service animals. The only time, according to federal law, that a service animal may be asked to leave is if the animal is not house broken or if it is out of control.
I don't remember seeing one, but there is a store near downtown Escondido that sells scrubs & other work clothing.
There is a new pet store in the old location...Bark Avenue.
My recollection was no non service dogs on sign at entrance, best to call Westfield
