I work there. If you're coming into Pier 92 in Los Angeles (San Pedro), screenshot all your pertinent documents especially recent COVID test results that show your name, the date the test was taken and the result. The building is old and the wifi is spotty at best. Data often doesn't work well either. Anything you can screenshot with all the important information will save you time.

The workers are very efficient . They want the ship safely boarded a.s.a.p. so they can go home . This port is very passenger-friendly when boarding , no long waits to board . I work here and I have taken 3 cruises LB , Galveston, and Cape Canaveral... I have used these experiences to form my review.
vacations and food
it is really fun. we bought the tickets cheap from Groupon. it is nice especially for the families. you can take your food and drinks with you, if you don't like to buy on the ship, but read their policies in their website first. we book two hours so we visited the south and the north sides. you can buy one hour for one side only if you like..

Living in San Diego and being able to sail right out of the city I love was awesome. So convenient and easy. Our friends dropped us off right in front of the terminal and picked us up there as well. The best part was the views. We’ve sailed out of many ports around the world but very few have such beautiful views of the city and harbor.

The car rental places at the airport is a long but doable walk. If you are not in a hurry it would be a good prelude to all the eating on your cruise. There is sidewalk the whole way. We dropped off our luggage at the cruise terminal, refueled at a nearby gas station, then dropped our rental car off at the airport. In the end we took a quick Uber from the airport to the cruise terminal instead of walking so our lunch wouldn't be as late.
No. Usually Disney docks on the north side of the B Street pier, but occasionally on the south side... And rarely at the Broadway pier (all within 100 yards of each other.)
Yes.... Marriott Residence inn & spring Hill suites are right across the street!!!!
I would ask the cruise line you are traveling with if they have a shuttle from the airport to the cruise terminal. I would ask my travel agent to arrange it if I didn't book directly with the cruise line. That way, you can walk right off the plane, into the shuttle and go directly to the ship. All plans made in advance. They will also arrange for the shuttle to be waiting for you when you return to take you back to the airport or to your hotel if you are staying in San Diego for a little while.
You will have better luck typing "closest car rental near me in Google" but here is the address to a close rental car place near the ports. Enterprise 2305 Pacific Hwy, San Diego, CA 92101
