It's a back in the woods but not woodsy and quiet place to live

EDIT: If you guys are aware of the problem then I should be receiving some sort of discount for all the inconveniences. Like today I went to open the garage door and couldn’t. So I had to park get my child off in the rain to go have you fix my garage opener. Then get back in the car and drive to the parking spot that I pay for! As for the garbage chute, there’s currently duct tape used as a handle because the open button doesn’t work so I’m sure management is well aware of it since it’s been months. As for the doors not being able to open that’s a lie. One of the maintenance guys would open the doors when school would get out because the elevators would be so busy. So everything you replied sounds nice but doesn’t excuse all the issues I’ve had living here. I’ve had it with this place. The number of times my key fob hasn’t worked is ridiculous. I pay to live here I expect to be able to get in whenever I want. That’s just the start. The garbage chute on my floor has been broken for months, I pay extra to park in the garage and yes I’ve been locked in before. Not to mention the elevator breaks down far too often. Usually on a weekend when there’s no one there to fix it. They don’t unlock the stairs going up so you’re forced to go to the elevator on the other side of the building. Lastly it’s suppose to be a none smoking facility yet people smoke right outside my building. I can’t keep my windows open even on hot summer days because my son has asthma and the smoke come straight into my windows. I’ve been here a year and a half and have seen multiple office staff changes. I don’t even know who works there anymore. All I know is I can’t wait for my lease to be up.

Renters beware! My husband and 2 children moved into a 3-bedroom unit at the beginning of December 2017. We enjoyed our time there with not many complaints to normal apartment living. We were presented with the opportunity to rent a home that was better suited for us so we gave our notice and moved out. Upon moving out, my mother and myself spent a few hours scrubbing the apartment to make it look nice and so that the apartment wouldn't need to put an outrageous amount of time and effort sprucing it up for a new move in. I was informed that we would receive a statement that would not be final as they were trying to re-rent our unit for an early move-out. After receiving the statement I was completely blown away at the charges we received! I am aware that carpets need to be cleaned and paint needs to be touched up before new residents can move in, but we put a lot of effort in cleaning the apartment and we were nickeled and dimed for every charge! $300 for paint (was subtracted $80 since we did not stay the full 12 months) this is totally outrageous, $130 for carpet cleaning (the apartment doesn’t pay for ANY normal move out charges???) and a whopping $175 for a professional cleaning.... and on top of that they quoted for 6+ hours of maintenance labor. After calling to complain, the manager said the only thing she noticed she could change was they only spent 2+ hours in the unit instead of the 6+ we were originally quoted. It's apparent that this management company does not award for any effort made by the residence to clean up after leaving or even taking care of the unit. The pictures below show that it was left in great shape and should not have required $675 in move out costs. It is very frustrating that there are apartments out there that NOTICE EFFORT and do not nickel and dime for every NORMAL charge for a turn over. After being frustrated with move out costs, I heard they had re-rented the unit in which I was very appreciative of and grateful. I asked them to please send me the final statement so we could pay it. This is end of October. After calling weekly, and then multiple times a week without receiving a statement they continued to tell me that it was "in the mail". Now, beginning of December, turns out the only mail I received was from COLLECTIONS!! So once again, a resident being diligent to pay their dues, are automatically sent to collections. When I contacted Polaris, the leasing agent said she had contacted corporate and they said they would send me a statement and that’s all she could do. I have now left 2 messages with FPI management, and have yet to receive a call back. POOR MANAGEMENT who obviously holds no value to those residents who go above and beyond.

Went by in April before I moved to Kent as I liked the area, checked out these apartments and as I always do, I look at em morning afternoon and late evening to know what I would be getting into before I sign a lease. The evening crowd was insane of the number of people staying here.. no parking anywhere. And lots of shady folks hanging outside. It's obvious a lot of folks are bunking up here who aren't on the lease.
