They would more than likely tell you no. It is completely your responsibility to find housing even if you have to transfer to a different county to get it, otherwise you will go back down to the bottom of the list. I had a friend who that happened to.

What does metro housing mean? Income?

It is assistance from the government to get your housing at a cheaper rate so you can afford to live there. There is usually a waiting list and sometimes you have to wait until they have open enrollment. If you have children living in home it is easier to get or on disability. I hope that answers all your questions.
