Excellent place to walk, meditate, exercise, highly recommended.

All the trees were cut a while ago, it's made the park pretty ugly and hard to launch kayaks and paddleboards from.

Grandson loves the geese and wildlife. Beautiful view of the Cincinnati side and Red's ballpark. Oh! And we can't forget the play area and memorial. It is a shame Newport is sacrificing this beautiful park for money. UPDATE: What Newport has done to this quaint little park is criminal. They took out nearly all of the trees. Some of them hundreds of years old. The playground is unsafe with a steep hill and no barriers keeping your children from falling down the hill into the Licking River. Almost all wildlife except for the geese are gone. All of the wood that the city dumped as well as asphalt was pushed into the river. Word has it they did the same a few years back with the picnic tables and benches at the bottom of the hill below the picnic shelter. The corruption in Newport is as strong today as it was many years ago.

I'm not to sure, but I work on the river and see people fishing all over and at every park.
