I will give a 0 star if I can. This store’s practice is extremely shady and questionable. First of all, it’s dirty and it rinks, there are flies everywhere in the store. The staff are impatient and unprofessional. They could not find my insurance information and did not give me pricing information after I’m done with the eye examination. The worst part is, they told me they are within network but charged me 50 dollar copay when they are not within my network. They also told me that contact lens are not covered by my insurance which is a complete joke as it is covered in every other location. I don’t know how they have these high reviews from google as I had an extremely bad experience and saw many truthful reviews from yelp. Do not come here!!!!

I highly recommend against going to this location; my experience has chased me away with doing business with any Cohen's location. This place is untrustworthy, rude and I feel like I got scammed. Looking at the reviews, it seems like the best reviews are for the doctor; I specifically came here to change my lenses. Long story short, even though I informed them I had insurance, they did not run the card, and instead charged me an outrageous price [$713 for one pair of lenses!]. The store was hostile when I tried to contact them, claiming they didn't know I had insurance [untrue and I have the receipts to prove it]. I was not given an itemized receipt, so I'm not even clear on what items made the charge so high. My insurance company even tried to contact them, which led to them being hung up on. Cohen's corporate customer service was initially helpful when I contacted them; however, after a week and a half of calling for an update, they have not replied. Eventually I just disputed the charge on my credit card. Edit: as you can see below, the same people who ghosted me and has yet to call me back from my original case has responded below with a cookie cutter response. Why would I contact you when I'm still waiting for you to get back to me from weeks ago? This, to me, perfectly displays everything wrong with this experience.

The employees at this location were nice but didn't bother quoting me an accurate price for prescription sunglasses. I visited 4 other optical shops in lower Manhattan and all of them checked my insurance. Cohen's did not check my insurance benefits even though the employees were not busy at all. They told me that high-index sunglasses would be $579 with insurance. Every other place told me ~$200. Needless to say, I did not end up getting glasses here.

I went today with my son for an eye exam, T’shaura and Shaniya were such a great help . Well educated and informed. I was hesitant on what style of glasses would look nice on me but they helped me find the right one. Now I feel like a new man I could see the world! Thanks !
